Horror Welcome to Derry - HBO Max Developing IT Prequel Series

Just finished watching the latest episode, and it was the best one so far for me!

The first ten minutes were pretty creepy, and it was great to see who those characters turned out to be.

The scenes with Hallorann and It becoming aware of each other after the former used his shining ability and his chat with Hanlon were great!

The last few minutes with the kids I also enjoyed,

Can’t wait for next Thursday, and so far, I think Welcome to Derry is much better than Chapter 2.

Not gonna lie, when the kids had the group hug at the end of the cemetery scene I was half expecting the ghosts to join them. They would have if this were It Chapter Two. :o

I liked the episode, especially the Halloran stuff. I'm hoping Pennywise makes his big debut in the next episode. They've teased enough.

This series has been great so far. Can’t wait for episode 4. Definitely think we are gonna see Pennywise. Also the intro is always a no skip for me.

I can agree that he's been teased enough, but at the same time I'm glad we're not getting any of him so far yet, either. Muschietti and company know we're here to see him, we all know we want to see him, and even though he's not physically here, you can still feel his presence throughout. It'll make his eventually, full reveal worth the wait.

Episode 3 I thought was fine and all, but Episode 2 ends with the cliffhanger of going back to the Asylum and teasing that this is going to be bad....only for her to be immediately released, seems like she had a good time, and we don't see anything in there that happened. Weak as hell. That and parts of the cemetery sequence looked like dog poop. So, easily worst episode thus far for me. I really enjoyed episodes 1 and 2 a lot. Episode 3 felt like a major downgrade for me. I hope next week is better. It wasn't an awful episode and had good parts in it, but the anticlimax to start the episode starts at an immediate disadvantage for me, and the climax of the episode being bad also left me very cold.

Penny's silhouette at the cemetery looked more like a demented cowboy than a clown to me :funny:

The third episode of Welcome to Derry, the IT prequel series from Andy Muschietti, delivered nearly 5M U.S. viewers in its first three days of availability across HBO and HBO Max, per Warner Bros. Discovery.

That is slightly down from the premiere, which managed 5.7M U.S. cross-platform viewers in the same time frame. However, the season as a whole is currently averaging 9.2M U.S. viewers per episode and nearly 15M viewers globally. That places it among the top three freshman seasons in platform history, the company says.

I was really enjoying episode 3 until the cemetery part which looked quite fake. But I'm will to go on with the show

I like this enough to want to see it continue. Hope the viewership doesn't drop off sharply. :(
I think it'll be fine. Word of mouth seems to be really helping, and I imagine that will go up once we get Pennywise in the flesh. Plus, I think repeat viewings for any clues and hints of Pennywise throughout will benefit the show in the long run.

I don’t know what the thinking was to start in October but end in December. We’re all thinking Christmas! They should’ve started in August and had the finale on Halloween!

I assume they just weren’t done them yet.
