Does anyone know what's going on with Wesley Snipes lately? I'm a huge fan of his, so i buy all his movies but lately he's only been making straight to video movies and, i hate to say it....they suck! The 'Marksman', the 'Detonator' ...man those movies make me question my loyalty to the brutha. Does anyone know whay he's only doing these low budget movies now and nothing on the big screen...?

because he's turned into an insufferable jerk after blade trinity, and no good directors will work with him. same thing that happened to segal, and van damme.

I find that hard to believe. There are far more worst Jerks in Hollywood (probably most of them) that still get gigs, if indeed Snipes is a jerk...

Even though when actors sign on to do movies they don't know if the movies are going to get put out in the theaters or on DVD. Also the actors salery doesn't change just because the movie goes to DVD. Snipes can be getting paid very well up front and then could be caking off the DVD sales as well.

There's many solid actors releasing straight to DVD movies now, the studios just don't want to spend the money to market the movies any more unless they know its going to be a hit production. Cuba Gooding JR won an Oscar he has a few flicks that went to straight to video.

People just be hating on the Snipes just what they hear on films. The Blade series wouldn't be what it is today if it wasn't for Snipes period, he brought in his fighting team and Snipes is the one who gave Blade his Bladeness. Goyer gets way too much credit. You seen what happens when you don't have Snipes involved in production of the last movie thats when you get something like Blade Trinity.

His *****ebagginess has ruined his rep

Funny but I don't remember any good directors like Spielberg, Scorcese or Coppola knocking down doors to get to work with Segal or Van-Damme.

The only Segal movie I have ever been able to watch is Under-Siege.
And that's mainly because Tommy Lee Jones is awesome in everything

Tommy Lee Jones was in Under Siege? Wow. It has been a long time since I've watched the first one.

Executive Decission was pretty good.

Snipes never appealed too me all that much.

those aren't 'good' directors... those are some of the best. big difference... and, what i meant was: no one wants to put them in any big movies any more. maybe i should have phrased that better, saying that no big studios (and by association, directors) want to work with them.

But that's a Kurt Russel movie. (That I bought on dvd recently)
Segal dies in like the first 15 minutes.

Are we talking about Snipes or Segal here ppl?

i think this turned into a conversation about wash-ups in general.
