Wesley Snipes speaks about Blade 4

I would love Wesley Snipes back for Blade. I'd rather not have the bored, empty vessel that took his place in Blade: Trinity, though...

I'd rather Snipes play someone or something a little cooler than Blade. I remember him mentioning an RDJ-like comeback. I'd be awesome if he could play someone high level. Blackbolt. Blue Marvel. Someone epic.

He'd also make a smashing and slightly meta T'Chaka.

Hmmm, isn't he a bit old already? Although a new Blade movie wouldn't hurt. Wonder what can they think of as a story, though.

According to the Daily News, this is close to being a done deal.

Like I said over on CBR, here's a wild thought, maybe Snipes will play Blade in a supernatural superhero team movie. My guess/theory is that Marvel/Disney MIGHT put out either a BLADE AND THE HOWLING COMMANDOS movie (which would be based off of both the supernatural SHIELD team that was introduced in the comics a few years ago and the animated version of the team that appeared in the 2nd season of the USM cartoon) or a BLADE AND THE LEGION OF THE NIGHT movie with Dr. Strange on the team.

Hmm...This has gone viral but Snipes wanting to reprice the role is not the same as Marvel Studios actually giving it the green light for it. So until then it's confirmed by Fiege and Co. I'm not phased.

Also they're not going to make a sequel to a movie series they don't own and didn't produce themselves.

Exactly.
As great as Snipes was as Blade, Marvel Studios wouldn't start a new franchise with someone of a previous one, it would confuse audiences.
I'd be more open to the idea if Blade: Trinity didn't exist, alas it does.

It's the reason why Marvel didn't recast Sam Elliot as Thunderbolt in TIH, the same why Thomas Janes efforts are moot.

Not really. He's like 52 and in very good shape. Schwarzenegger and Stallone are still kicking ass into their late 60's, and they don't have Snipe's martial arts background.

Snipes vs Cage vs Jane. Punisher, GR, Blade three way.

Snipes is older that RDJ, which (to quote Ralph Wiggum) is unpossible.

Whatever marvel decides to do with Blade, it wont be a sequel and Wesley Snipes will not be playing him. His time has past, like Christian Bales time as batman and like JK Simmons as JJJ.

IF Wesley ever had a part in the MCU, I wouldn't mind if he played T'Chaka in a BP movie.

I would like to see this, actually.

Please, the old gods and the new gods, make this happen!

Also Jennifer Connelly, in the TIH dvd commentary the director says that she would have been his ideal Betty Ross but using her would have caused confusion.

IGN is reporting that he's going to be present in a Fourth film and will be paid $3 million US. My guess is it'll be a pure reboot where the series is retitled The Tomb of Dracula and Snipes will play Lucas Cross up against a younger actor as Blade. So we see a new actor as Eric Brooks fighting against Snipes as his father which may go down as the single best fight scene of all time. It would be like Daniel Craig fighting Pierce Brosnan in a Bond film.

Would love that. Love Snipes as Blade but the series needs a reboot and to be brought into the Marvelverse. Snipes is unfortunately too old now. Blade could be in and out of films/tv shows for the next 10 years, do we really want a 62 year old Blade helping Ghost Rider fight demons?

Why would be hearing this from IGN and Snipes before having an official press release from Marvel Studios?
Blade reverted a while ago and this just reeks of pure fabrication.
