I bought a pug puppy a couple of months ago and now he’s heavily teething on well... everything.

I got him chew toys, but he gets bored quickly and goes back to chewing on my table.

Suggestions?

beat it senseless

bite it

i am a terrible person :(

Play with him to get him to keep attention on the toys. Like get him one of those chewable bones and give it to him, if you see he's tempted to let go of it, pretend to take it away from him and pull while he has it in his mouth, he will probably focus his attention back on it. Well that's how it was with my doggy.

I believe there are sprays you can get to apply to your furniture to prevent your dog from biting it. They are usually harmless to the dog, and contain some sort of pheromone which serves as a repellent.

We used to have a squirt bottle and everytime our puppies bit someone, we squirted water in their face.

It was mean, but it worked.

Saying "NO" to your dog when teaching him something i'd avice against it, use another word something that we don't use as commonly when speaking with other people because the dog will get confused and not associate it with the bad action. Pick any word, something that you will only say to him when he does a bad action. Also, this might seem silly but it does work, if your dog is playing with you and he bites you constantly that even when you tell him "bad" or something else, the key is to make that same dog whimping/crying noise and he will stop right away. Dog's make that noise when they are hurt usually so he will get it. It worked for mine perfectly, now he doesn't bite me at all, not even when he's playing.

I personally recommend "schlack-pappy-do!" You don't hear THAT too often in casual talk. :)

...well, unless you're Adam Sandler's dog...
