What about Thundarr the Barbarian?

Here's a new one for Gemini:

i kinda wish for a revamp for Thundarr as a cartoon show.

I always got Thundarr confused with the Herculoids.

Same here. They'd have to change the opening sequence a bit though, since the year 1994 is now several years in the past and not the future. I would say something like "In the not too distant future, from out of space comes a runaway planet, hurtling between the Eart and The Moon, creating cosmic destruction." and the rest I'd leave the same.

Which animators do you think should handle it? The people who did Samurai Jack? The people who did Batman: The Animated series; Superman: The Animated Series; and The JLA? The people who do Batman: The Brave & The Bold? The people who do The Batman? The people who did Spiderman: The Animated Series? The people who did The Lord Of The Rings and Fire & Ice?

My picks?

First Choice = LOTR and Fire & Ice
Second Choice = Spiderman: TAS
Third Choice = Batman: TAS
Fourth Choice = The Batman
Fifth Choice = Batman: The Brave & The Bold
Sixth Choice = Samurai Jack

I've decided one of my next writing projects is going to be a script for Thundarr The Barbarian: The Movie. Anyone wanna collaborate on this with me?

Dude, while the pictures you're uploading are really cool (and this latest one is the coolest yet) they're more appropriately placed in another thread I started in the Misc. TV Shows board. This thread is more for speculating about who would be playing the key characters in a live action movie, what the plot should be about, who should produce and/or direct, etc. That other thread can be found here:

Here are some fan made Thundarr Movie Trailers:

I like the first one because they used images of Dolf Lundgren as He-Man from The Masters Of The Universe for Thundarr. The second one used Liv Tyler as Arwyn from LOTR for Princess Ariel (personally I would've used Kelly Hu as The Sorceress from The Scorpion King). And they used a Lycan from Underworld 3: Rise Of The Lycans for Ookla The Mok (personally I would've used Ron Perlman as Vincent from TV's Beauty & The Beast). I liked how the 3rd one used the actual music & voiceover from the cartoon though. However I found it a little too long, with too much footage from the Deep Impact trailer. I also found that some of the movie footage used was poorly chosen (Emperor Palpatine as an evil wizard was a good choice, but we didn't need to see Luke Skywalker).

Interesting article. Unfortunately it's about characters that Jack Kirby was working on that never got to see the light of day. Thundarr The Barbarian greeted the light of day every Saturday morning on ABC from 1980 to 1982, then continued to do so in reruns on NBC from 1982 to 1984, and continues to do so to this day on The Cartoon Network and Boomerang, as this very thread is a testament to. Though perhaps Ruby-Spears Productions making cartoons, comic books, and video games out of these never-before-seen Jack Kirby projects might spark an interest in a revival of Thundarr The Barbarian, much like Hanna-Barbra & Warner Brothers launching What's New Scooby Doo? after the success of their animated feature film Scooby Doo On Zombie Island.

I did read on another website that a script for a live action Thundarr The Barbarian movie is being shopped around Hollywood for a producer and/or director. They didn't post any links or cite any sources, like Variety Magazine, Access Hollywood, etc, so that could just be a rumor. I'll post more on the subject if any more information is forthcoming.

If he does well as Thor, maybe he could play Thundarr.

Yes! I've done it! I've finally finished my latest Thundarr fan fiction! You can read it right here on SHH, in the Fan Fiction & Films forum of the Fandom Come Board. It's a Thundarr/Dracula cross over story called Thundarr The Barbarian in Curse Of The Vampire. You can also find it at www.fanfiction.net using the link above. Give it a read, I think you'll really like it. Enjoy!

For those of you who are interested, I have just finished writing Chapter Two of my latest Thundarr fan fic, Thundarr The Barbarian in Hunted. It is a Thundarr/Predator crossover story and can be found in the Fandom Come: Fan Fiction & Films board.

I had also started a thread on there for collaborating on a Thundarr movie script, as I'm planning on writing one in the very near future.
