Civil War What are the rosters going to be?

I wonder if any of this will carry over into the Netflix shows should they get second seasons. Like how they had Winter Soldier influence Agents of SHIELD.

I wonder if the plot of the defenders could be them fighting pro-registration adversaries (although I'd rather Count Nefaria and the Maggia be the bad guys in that story)

IDK why so many people think/want BW to be on Tony's side. I makes no sense given what happened in TWS and her attitude at the end of that movie. It'd just be a dumb "twist." She's going to turn on the guy who she's got a brother/sister dynamic with, to side with the guy who, by her own admission, doesn't trust her. No, it'd just be stupid. "Tension" isn't a good enough reason in and of itself.

Not that I've started to think Civil War is a good idea for a Cap film.

But the thing about it being a civil war is that it is being fought among a close-knit group that would have at any another time fought together against other enemies. Brother against brother.

Steve and Tony are teammates, but they've never been friends, and it doesn't look like they're going to start in Age of Ultron.

He has been very close friends with Natasha, though. It might have been better if Natasha was leading the pro-reg faction, to be honest.

Not really. It would completely contradict her arc in TWS and where she was at the end of said movie. They'd basically have to hit the reset button on her character and have her forget EVERYTHING that she learned in that movie.

It wouldn't be the first time by far.

What did she learn exactly that would make her against regulation?

I seriously wonder what will be the excuse for Bruce not being in this

Here is who I think would be with who, regardless if they may or may not be in the movie (considering we don't know who is in and who is out)

Iron Man: Tony Stark, Rhodey, Hulk, Vision, Thor, Hawkeye (I could see him wanting some kind of intervention considering Loki messing with his mind), Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel, Maria Hill, SHIELD

Captain America: Steve Rogers, Falcon, Agent 13, Black Widow, Quicksilver, Black Panther, Fury, Winter Soldier possibly, Doc Strange possibly, Ant Man possibly

Space.

They've refuted the rumors of a Planet Hulk movie and a Guardians of the Galaxy team-up but I don't think there's evern been confirmation of the rumors of Banner being exiled from Earth are untrue.

I can't see there being as many characters in it as some of the lists.

I hope we see the Vision.

This.

But I don't get why so many people are putting Vision on the pro-registration side. In the comics, he sided with Cap, and not to mention I doubt he'd be on the opposite team of Scarlet Witch, who Paul Bettany mentioned Vision was protective of. Also, you would think being free from Ultron would cause Vision to fight FOR people's freedoms.

But on the other side, Tony, who is presumably his creator, will be heading up the Pro-Registration front. He may start out Pro, and then switch sides to join Cap later on.

-I could see Hulk basically saying "screw you guys, I'm out" and just not taking sides.
-Is the Doctor Strange film coming out before or after CW? Because he might not even have been introduced into the MCU at the time, and I don't see him taking sides either.
-I don't see SHIELD siding with Tony if Coulson is still running it, nor do I see the Twins siding with him.

Basically that's a problem. Given how the MCU has played out so far, I don't really see ANY of the heroes taking the pro-registration side, including Tony himself. Most of them seem pretty anti-authority, and even the ones that might have supported registration, like BW, have seen firsthand how much the government cannot be trusted. MAYBE Maria Hill (since she works for Tony now) and War Machine (military guy and Tony's best bud). But that's about it.

According to variety, The back-up plan to using Stark in The Civil War was supposedly using Banner. So if he appears it would likely be as pro-registration. If Hank Pym makes an appearance he's be pro-reg since he supposedly doesn't like superheroes.

Sharon Carter was also pro-reg in the comics wasn't she? Her working for the CIA as shown in TWS would probably put her in that camp. Hill I expect to be Pro-Reg. I do wonder if she'll shoot at Cap in the movie like her comic counterpart. BW was pro-reg in the comics but after TWS I'm not sure how they'd swing that. But AOU will put more of the pieces in place.

I think the Maximoffs could swing either way, depending on the events of TWS.

And then there's the question of how Bucky will fit into all this....

From what we saw of her briefly in TWS Sharon seemed to strongly believe in Cap, so I can see her siding with him regardless of her CIA affiliation. Possibly even as a mole or spy.

From what was said about the twins it seems they initially dislike the Avengers because they view them as fascists and imperialists (mirroring the way a lot of Europeans view the U.S. foreign policy). So I don't think they'd willingly side with a measure to expand government power to control superhumans.

Sharon was kind of unsure/wishy washy about the whole thing, what with her boyfriend being the leader of the anti-registration faction. And WTF would they think that using Banner would be a good idea? He makes even less sense in that role than Stark does.

Trust in Feige, we must.

Feige's vision gave us IM 2 and TDW. So I'm taking a "we'll see" approach on this, especially given my absolute loathing of CW.

It depends on how AOU pans out. If Tony saves them, they could wind up in a Magneto-style situation where they choose to follow him out of a sense of obligation for everything he's done for them.

If Daniel Bruhl is playing Zemo, I like the idea of Iron Man working with some version of the Thunderbolts.
