This is a curious page about what everyone mind be doing to mark the 10th anniversary of 9/11 or have done in the past. Personal stories and experiences are encouraged.

I don't even know what I'll be doing this weekend. I should see if there's anything going on in my area, good idea.

I'll be working. Most likely there will be a few documentaries on the History channel, so I will catch those.

If it's a week day, I'll be going to work.

If it's the weekend, I'll be sleeping in.

So... sleeping in.

9/11 was tragic, but I'm not really into watching the news media's voyeurism that'll be on display that day. They'll try to squeeze every bit of drama out of it by turning it into an all-day media spectacle.

We all should start observing December 7th, 1941 a bit more too.

I'm only going to watch the opening of the memorial in New York, but I will planting a tree most of the day instead.

Maybe watch some documentaries that'll be on. As I'm English, that'll probably be what happens around here.

Honestly I think this should just be a solemn dignified day of remembrance. Those who lost someone should be allowed to remember as they wish without a ton of media coverage. I don’t know that this is an event which should be celebrated with booze and barbeque.

It's sad to think it but 10-20 years from now it'll be a federal holiday and everyone will just see it as an extra day off from work to hit the beach.

They don't do that now with December 7th and that was an equally tragic event.

I'm probably not doing anything special. It's not something to celebrate obviously and watching the media sensationalize the hell out of it for ratings doesn't sound appealing so rather than mope around about it I'll find something productive to do.

I'll probably watch some of the documentaries that will be on, follow the coverage of the memorial that'll be on.

Something I've done basically every years re-read Marvel's "Moment of Silence" comic. It was a great and moving tribute. It is quite strange though. I was 10 when I bought that comic, in a few weeks I'll be 20. It really does not seem like that much time has passed. I guess its because the coverage, the after effects, the response and retaliation for the events of that day have never really left us.

I'm gonna go to Walmart and buy the new Jay-Z/Kanye CD because buying a Jay-Z CD from Walmart is exactly what I was doing that day. I remember fighting to get into the place while people were trying to get out b/c I didn't know wtf was going on. I was not going to be denied that CD...then I found out it was a terrorist attack later that day :(

If you didn't buy that CD, the terrorists would have won.

It will be the second labor day of September too.

Gonnabe doing a bunch of stuff non related like running a half marathon and watching football, but I'm sure they'll have their own little tribute. My girlfriend and I are actually visiting home that weekend, when we were booking plane tickets she told me she wouldn't fly on Sunday, I asked why not even thinking. Just creeped her out flying on 9/11, rightfully so, once I realized the date, I was totally on board with it.

I go to service every Sunday so that's where I'll be. In the morning at least.

Does your preacher get you guys out by the time the football games come on? Or is he one of those that enjoys holding ya?

:D
