For girl gamers, I respect them. They're gamers like everyone else. C'mon, they've existed since video games were BORN.

Feminist Gamers on the other hand..... They're the bane of my existence. I'm not sure if they're even good people, let alone gamers. One of the reasons that I don't like them is that they look at one thing and not look the other way for other gamers. Yeah, it sucks that a lot of females in video games are pixelated to be attractive..... But what about the testosterone filled T***S that is the male characters? I'm pretty sure that people would want to grind their ears with cheese graters than to hear them say the billionth cliche on television. Another thing that I can't stand is that people actually paid the Female Manifesto kickstarter from back then.... Seriously? Since when is female in gaming the hugest deal in the world? Did people SERIOUSLY paid money just to watch feminists pretend to be gamers? They're not girl gamers, they're feminists that strive for attention.

I consider it a godsend that I don't usually hear from them. People, if gamers go on Call of Duty to insult each other, it's not fighting against human rights. It's fighting a war more pointless than what they're actually playing in Call of Duty.

I wasn't aware there were so many angry feminist gamers.

Or, any, really.

I'm not quite sure what point you're trying to make in that diatribe, but from what I gather it seems to me like your issue is more with feminists in general than feminist gamers.

Really? I thought I made it clear that they're just as much of wasted flesh as actual feminists.

And that right there is the problem. You just don't like women whom you considers as 'Feminists'...and it spilled over to your perception on female gamers in general.

I know quite a few female gamers, but never run across one that you would describe as Femisnist gamers.

Unfortunatelly i see a lot of people with the "feminists are sexist against men and are angry" bulls** on the internet, expecially forums. I'm not the best person to talk about it, but yes, feminist deserve their right to get angry because they're right to be so, Unfortunatelly many see the events wrong and confuse women wanting to be viewed as equal to them wanting to have more rights than men.

By the way, i'm a man, and a men half-naked in a movie is generally portrayed in a completelly way than a woman. About gaming feminists, watch this great vídeo:

[YT]X6p5AZp7r_Q[/YT]

She's the feminist gamer who started a kickstarter in order to make a series of vídeos about the tropes of women in vídeo games, for just wanting to discuss those tropes she received a series of insults and even dead threats. Yeah, we men are the victims of feminists, sure.......

Angry Joe did say it best. This tirade against feminist gamers is almost as bad as the quest against fake fangirls. It's these type of actions that give the geek community bad stereotypes at times.

Agreed, though i'dd say that the tirade's unfortunatelly against feminists as whole. And yes, Angry Joe said it the best, that vídeo was hilarious.

Off topic, but I highly recommend Angry Joe's vids overall. He might require some time to get used to - I myself found him to be pretty annoying at first - but he's spot on with lots of things about games. I'd go as far as to say his reviews are the absolute best out there!

You make it sound like I have a huge hatred for girls that game like everyone else... I wish I lived in your world that doesn't have feminists arguing over the roles of females in gaming.

I'm impressed. People showed me videos that are more pointless than the Vietnam war. I can say that there has been videos showing things in a positive/negative light. And don't try that female manifesto video garbage... Even girl gamers hated that video.

Been a fan of that guy for awhile now. Too bad what's happened to him because of Youtube though.

It's the mere fact that it bothers you that there are females that arguing about females roles in videogames...and guessing from the posts in this thread, i don't think i'm the only one who gets that impression

I think that's an issue that speaks for itself. I won't pretend that there's no such thing as sexism... But jesus christ, if there's a list of world's biggest offenders, then I'm pretty sure that feminists and sexism would be there. There has been video games that has damsels in distress, sex symbols, and side female characters. But that also includes the fact there there indeed has been female roles other than them. Plus, it's VIDEO GAMES. They can be as real as a person or ridiculously fictional as they want.

There's a difference between a feminist who is reasonably asking for an alternative to misogyny and a feminist who wants to censor or ban every bit of cleavage and fish net stockings on the planet.

But as angry joe pointed out it doesn't advance the conversation to make ugly threats or call them names.

Lately, I haven't seen much positive things about feminists.

Sounds like my pointless Call of Duty statement.

While it's true that there are vide games that features female characters other than a damsel in distress role, they are still an exception rather than the rule. And with the growing numbers of female gamers in general,it's becoming more and more of a legit question.

Personally, i don't see why the complaint from female gamers that they want more stronger female characters in game should be treated differently that say...complain from gamers that they want better stories in games, or better gameplay etc

In the end, if the game makers take those complaints seriously, it'll only benefits the industry as a whole.

There are games like that. Just because they're not a leading role or a particular role of any kind, that does not mean they're in a degrading position... Unless they're the unfortunate soul that's in a Japanese game. I posted the counter argument to Lord's video. And no, it isn't any rant or anything like that. In fact, it supports SOME points Anita said. It just states disagreements to some other points as well.

If there's going to be complaints about that, then it better not be something stupid like making the female the lead role. I'm sure it's nice to play as a female character, but that doesn't make the character.
