Now, I'd like to say that the Spike series, I think it was better than I expected it to be, if only for the level of violence they got away with (and apparently there was more filmed that what was ultimately shown). As it progressed, we started getting an actual ongoing story that was pretty good.

But I think if anything is really gonna match the breakneck, kinetic energy of the films, at this point, it's gonna have to be in animated form. I remember the animated short that came with the Blade Trinity soundtrack and thinking, "wow, this is pretty terrible." Granted, those guys are actually starting to do pretty well for themselves in animation, if anyone's seen clips of their stuff for Blokhedz. The improvement is vast compared to what they did for that Blade short.

But I still wouldn't want them doing anything beyond that when it comes to Blade. I actually think the team of animators and character designers from The Boondocks animated series could do something fantastic with Blade. Guys like LeSean Thomas and Khary Randolph are doing some great stuff in animation these days.

Naturally, the move to animation eliminates one of the big things that I'm sure most would agree hindered the live-action Spike TV series. While Sticky eventually grew on me when it come to Blade, I can imagine severely more people who were probably never sold on even the idea of anyone other than Snipes playing Blade, let alone a former rapper. At least in an animation, we just need a competent voice actor. Maybe Phil Lamar, who seems to be able to do everything from stoic japanese worriors to pre-pubescent teenagers, to gruff army veterans. The dozens of voices this man can do, and none of them sound like his real voice, it's pretty impressive.

For music, I'd want RZA, but mix in a little Madlib, and maybe even RJD2.

I'd rather see another character for a Marvel animated series...

But that's not too bad of an idea...

I'd be all for a Blade animated series.

I have to say in defense of the Blade animated short, and being one of the guys who worked on that project, that the schedule and the budget was honestly non existent! There was only about a week to do what was originally pitched as a great idea. The flash animators was only given about a week to do like three weeks worth of work.

Unfortunatlly, the production people were, as usual unrealistic with the amount of time to do the project. We had so many great ideas and just NO time or money to do it, so that was the best that could be delivered under the circumstances.

ImajiMation Studios should get another shot to do what we originally wanted, with the proper time and budget.

Fair enough. Once again, I can't wait for Blokhedz.

Deadpool would work much better as an animated series. Blade has had 3 movies and a live action series for the character to really catch on.

I'm not sure about an animated series, but I'd much rather a stab at a BLADE DTV than AVENGERS REBORN. :whatever:

i definitely want an animated series.. of course, for "kids" TV, it would have to be watered down heavily.. but I hope it would be produced as an ADULT SWIM action show, so it could be uncensored.. get wesley snipes to do the voice..

Blade I think is an odd one for an animated series. The subject matter is a bit dark and violent and there really isn't much of a market for mature animated series, and I really wouldn't want to see the vampires sucking plasma through their hands.

Either go DTV, or see if HBO would be willing to do something else along the lines of the Spawn animated series.

I personally would rather see a lot more stuff become animated series before Blade though.

Irredeemable Ant Man comes to mind. I see it as a 13 episode per season, comedy action series.

moon knight perhaps?

moon knight perhaps?

Don't know enough about Moon Knight to make a judgement. From what little I know he also seems more suited to a DTV animated movie, but again I don't know enough about him.

I'd like to see a Nextwave series.

i would like to see a moon knight something , blade has had his chance

I would rather see a Blade 4 to properly finish the story as Blade 3 was dissapointing to say the least.

Yeah Blade 4 should be made then maybe a animated movie preferably a manga one i have just watched Vampire hunter D-Bloodlust and the level of animation is amazing.

I'm all for a Blade animated series. Problem is though is that in the US(where it likely would have to get made) animation is still largely seen as a vehicle for the 5-14 age bracket. How do you make an animated version of Blade without it becoming like the silly animated Robocop series that was done(and shortlived I might add).

Right now the best bet would be for it to appear on Adult Swim at Cartoon Network. At least if it was going to be a proper Blade show.

Also Spike did all of us Blade fans wrong by cancelling the live action show. It was getting better and its not like they had anything better to replace their 1st scripted show ever with. That show has now been canned as well.

No,

what Blade needs is Wesley Snipes, and Stephen Norrington!!!

It wasn't that Spike wanted to cancel it because of the show itself, rather its budget was too high for the channel to absorb. I'm more surprised another network didn't pick it up than I am that Spike cancelled it.

i fear Moon Knight wont carry the same public popularity and familarity
that Blade does .

what you do in the Blade series is add/create intriguing enough villains
Morbius,... Lilith (dracula's daughter) .....Hunger, ...Selene the Black Queen,... Bloodbath, ...Grim Reaper ...Blackheart, etc.

.... and/or allies like Ghost Rider, Midnight Sons, Hannibal King, Black Panther, Man Thing, etc.

and i wouldn't stop at just vampire-related issues, i'd also include werewolves, demons, mutates, ghouls, evil voodoo zombies, etc
BUT i would be extremely careful not let those elements/characters become bigger than the Blade character himself.

He leads - He intrigues .......always.

And i wouldn't want a campy, vastly watered down, made for children G" cartoon series ......and let either a headline cable station like HBO or Adult Swim ( cartoon network) handled it so the vampire- violence won't be censored.

And also give the Blade animation a different, exotic/macabre look than the
previous Blade on the FOX-Kids Spiderman animated series.

:sym:

Now where is the daredevil cartoon that comes on adult swim.
