What DC-based novels have you read?

Just about all of them, have just about every DC and Marvel paperback/hardbacks ones :)

I've read The Death and Life of Superman and Crisis on Infinite earths

Superman was good except it left out the whole Hal jordan story
and Crisis on Infitie Earths was confusing as hell.

Batman: War on Crime, is good

Then you're just a hard-core superhero fan, huh?
I've read Batman Begins, Batman Forever & an anthology called "Tales Of the Batman"(which I highly recommend.)
I've got No Man's Land but haven't had a chance to read it yet.

I finished reading No Man's Land, it's a good Batman book

I'm currently reading a Spider-Man novel; I'll probably crack open NML when I finish. My mom got ahold of it & she said it was great.

Spider-Man Diane Dune books are good to read

I read the trilogy. That's what got me into superhero novels in the first place. I remember my stepmom flipped b/c she was so in love w/Duane's Star Trek novels.

I've read this one novel version of a Superman story that takes place very early on. It might even be the first one ever written. I've tried to find it on Amazon but I can't.

So you read it a long time ago?
I just remembered reading a Batman novel when I was a kid. Damned if I can remember the title though.

Morg, have you read "Inheritance" by Devin Grayson?

Nope, is that a Superhero related book?

Yeah, its about Nightwing, Tempest and Arsenal coming into their own from the shadows of their mentors :) I haven't been able to find it, but have heard its good.

Nope haven't heard of it, try ebay or a good bookstore

Sounds like a good one, & I like Grayson. She's awesome.

I just checked Walmart.com, I'll get it off of there... and I'm hit or miss with Devin... Her Titans was awesome, her Arsenal is one of the best, her Nightwing was good, until the end, in which case it was crap.

I've read a lot of Spider-man novels, but the only DC one that I've gone through was Batman: No Man's Land. Great book, BTW.

Another endorsement. I'm gonna have to dig this book up & read it.

There's a Justice League of America novel series out, and they're mostly very good. I still haven't gotten the Green Lantern book yet, but here's my reviews of the others.

JLA: Exterminators by Christopher Golden - Very good, actually my favorite of the series. Great characterization, and includes just about the whole DCU towards the end. Shows how the League has changed both in strategy and in maturity over the years. Highly recommended.

Batman: The Stone King by Alan Grant - Good, but not as good as the other books. The characterization is there, and I love how the focus on Bruce's fear is done, but the quasi-mystic nature of the storyline, as well as some annoying supporting characters turned me off. Still, I can see someone else loving this book, so I would recommend it to most people, especially Bat-fans.

Wonder Woman: Mythos by Carol Lay - Great book. Pretty much everything is excellently done here, except for some story problems that bothered me a bit. Highly recommended.

The Flash: Stop Motion by Mark Schultz - My second favorite book. Starts of a bit confusingly, but eventually this mystery begins to make sense, and reading it a second time, I picked up many clues I had missed the first time around. I recommend TWO readings, but one would be sufficient.

Superman: The Never-Ending Battle by Roger Stern - Very Good. The characterization is perfect, especially the ever-entertaining Bibbo Bibbowski, and the feats of heroism the JLA performs (especially the Flash) are quite impressive and well-written. The identity of the main villain was a mystery to me for a while, which led to more suspense, but more well-read DC comics fans might recognize him quicker. Not a must-read, but something Superman fans should pick up for sure.
