They'll crash and burn. Let them waste more time and money. Before you know it they will shut down their film division and continue to mutilate the company.

I remember when it first came out that they where going to try to bulid up and do s6 and venom and ever thing I thought they where going to do asm3 first then sinister six then asm4 and then venom or something like that. I think that would have been better that way because if you do asm3 and then sinister six and have sm fight the s6 in asm4 that would give you one more movie to bulid up to the 6 then doing sinister six and then asm3 with the 6 like they may do.

The other problem is I would have never imagined like a year ago that asm2 would only make 708 million ww. Now even if they scatch s6 and just do the s6 in asm3 that is going to give you even less movies to set them up and if they have the s6 in am3 the budget could go up even more to like 300 million. With the way the last 3 sm movies have went asm3 even if they some how do the s6 and it is amazing will probly make less because of the last 3 sm movies. So what you are going to spend 300 million on a movie that ends up making only 650-600 million ww? Ok now even if you do asm3 and just try to make it more of a lone movie so no s6 again and the budget stay at asm2 level of 250 that 708 that asm2 made is still going to probly go down again. So really I don't know if there is a way to make even the same profit that they made form asm2 even if the movie is great.

So did I. It seems like a more natural progression for the series to take. Going from TASM2 right to the sinister six shows that Sony is in a hurry to start it's sad little "cinematic universe." One more film could have been used to introduce another villain and help set up the Sinister Six. Venom should also be coming out much later on after the symbiote is established and Peter acquires it as a costume.

TASM2 made about $700M worldwide on a budget of about $400M (including marketing). It had very little return and is the lowest grossing Spider-Man film to date, not to mention having some of the worst reviews in the franchise.

If TASM3 was the next film coming out then I assume it would be making even less money than the previous movie. You don't even have to assume that Sinister Six will perform poorly: it will. The budget will no doubt be high: you have 6 villains including Doc Ock, Sandman, Green Goblin, and possibly mysterio, all of which require heavy special effects and CGI. Then the studio is going to have to do a lot of marketing to get people to even want to see this movie, so I wouldn't be surprised if the cost of it would be rather close to TASM2. So imagine a movie with an overall budget of approximately $300M and will probably bring in less than $600M WW.

Yeah it would have given them more time to not have to rush things to get to s6 has you need sever movies to get to the s6. has while has more time to maybe introduce eddie in asm3 or 4 to set up venom. It would be like if marvel never had a cap movie and thor movie or something and yet they make the avengers movie you would then have to introduce them to instead of already being there. Yeah that is what I mean you are going to have a higher budget and make even less then asm2 when asm2 only made 24.5 million. If asm3 has a budget of 300 million 50 million more then asm2 and you make the same amont of money that asm2 made in box office and you spend the same on marketing then you are going to loss like 25 million. If asm3 had a budget of like 250 million then how is a movie with 6 villians not going to be less. Even if you say spend 50 million less on marketing has it sounds like they spent to much on marketing for asm2 the budget going up by like 50 million is going to cancle it out.

If I were to hazard a guess,I'd say they don't make the deal, but they need another film out in X years to hold onto the rights,so they push through a ASM3,probably sans Garfield. If and when that bombs--ahem-- "under performs", they'll go back to Marvel more likely to agree to something or other. So,no S6.

I just don't see them continuing this series I really don't. Nobody likes it. People who had faith don't like and it always gets ragged on by mcu fanboys. They had faith in a product that wasn't welcomed by open arms to the masses. They should of made the best spiderman movie they could with just electro to show people they can do this but no they messed up.

I just don't see a continuation of a series thats failed. Sinister six is a dumb idea and tasm 3 won't get any chance to shine. Marvel is the only thing that can save spiderman right now. If Sony continues they will just destroy the franchise more. It's really sad spidey is under performing when his movies uplifted the comic book movie era to new lengths . I just don't see Sony continuing with a franchise no one really likes. Yea I know some people like it but that doesn't help ticket sales.

I'll admit that I was one of those "TASM fanboys" that defended the series after the first movie. I liked it a lot despite its flaws, and I saw a lot of potential in the future of this franchise. I had faith in Marc Webb and now I feel like a fool. I walked out of TASM2 feeling like an idiot after saying, "the sequel is going to be better, I'm sure of it."
