so with both releases of the amazing spiderman movies people are constantly calling peter parker a hipster when clearly from the way he acts and from the way he looks, he doesn't. i've encountered encountered people in my highschool, college, clubs, and even in stores. and let me just say that i'm also one of those groups. yes, there are people who act like maguire but you can't deny the fact that andrew's nerds exist. they also say peter does use a skateboard and while that really bothered me you can say that nerds in real life do skate.

so my friends, what does a nerd mean to you? have you seen geeks and nerds like andrew? what does a hipster also mean to you or what does it actually mean?

Look, if you haven't gotten it by now then you never will. I don't see why this bothers you so much you must make a thread.

Aww, that's a little harsh isn't it? "Hipsters" might be different where he lives.

Agreed with the thread thing though, spider-knight is a serial thread maker.

Hey man I have alot of ideas to put in and I'm also sorry if I bugged you

Peter in this series will not be a nerd until someone stuffs him in a trash can and breaks his science experiments, resulting in a chemical lab fire that clearly isn't his fault but the whole class blames him.

He did trash the science lab with the lizard, it's a start.

A nerd is passionate about a subject, and very well informed about it
That can be applied to the best of sport coaches

well, I think we can all agree that in the classic sense of the word "nerd" clearly just means "guy/girl who's passionate about stuff that's not sports or cars"

yeah it's a very relative term, but from my experience, all the cool people are either full on nerds or have nerdy qualities. nerd doesn't imply socially akwardness by default, I think geek leans more to that direction

I see two kinds of nerds.
In the classic negative sense it is someone who is a socially inept person who is out of style to the point of being an outcast (the classic nerdy styles, pocket protector etc). Like they did in a stupidly over the top go fashion with Max Dillon in this movie.
The other kind is one who is interested in classically nerdy things but not necessarily an outcast. Eg chess club, debate club, created his own paper and dice role playing game. Full disclosure I did all 3 of those.

Yeah, look at football fans for instance. With all those fantasy football leagues nowadays and how hardcore they are, it's common to hear them being compared to or called nerds.
