What is the worst kind of nerd?

Racist or sexist nerds.

So your reaction to being somewhat persecuted by society is to persecute another group?

How blind and cowardly can you be?

Nerds who cannot let creative deviations in a comic book film go. Do not get me wrong: I recently made my peace with Man of Steel. But, it came with realizing how absurd my hatred for some of the decisions was. But, some fans have not found peace, like those angry/in denial about Killian being the Mandarin. Sheesh. Let it go, man; go for a walk or determine the meaning of life. Endlessly ranting about something or living with false expectations--that Marvel Studios is going to use the Mandarin in another Iron Man film--is unhealthy. I mean, I was made that the Crimson Dynamo was reduced to a joke in IM2; but, I made my peace and moved on.

Just remembered something which might be good to add to this thread. How about fans(mostly fangirls and possibly dudes) who are really into Gender-Swapping fictional characters and perhaps spamming their weird choices all over tumblr?

I see this done a lot for say(off the top of my head): Sherlock, Supernatural(especially poor old Dean who gets this A LOT from what I've seen) and various folk from the MCU like say Loki and/or Thor.

What's up with that?!

heh, nothing? Didn't really know there were people who were bothered by this

I think being into MLP is fine. It's just, odd. I was absolutely flabbergasted the first time I heard what a brony was. It's not necessarily the fact that guys are into that its the fact that it has a fandom that has almost reached Juggalo level proportions that's ****ing mindboggling. I mean, if you wanna watch it that's cool. I'm into cartoons too but you just have to recognize that to most people its just weird and seems creepy. It's a show meant for little girls, so of course watching it is gonna make people question your sexuality. But, it's not like bronies give a **** and that's cool. I'm not hating by any means, live and let live. Just recognize that to most people its a bit odd

*ahem*... sorry i saw an opening and couldnt control myself! hehe carry on!
:cwink:

I'm not going to comment on that and I'll just take my leave.

Wrestling nerds/marks are some of the worst kinds of fans I've encountered. Purists are also a close second for me.

Right now, i have to say gamer nerds. These morons makes me ashamed to call myself a gamer sometimes.

Gamer Purists, mostly because they're not really concerned with the product in front of them so much as what may or may not come to pass later on. I refer to the storylines for Magic: the Gathering in response to an old novel, Scourge, and a more recent one written by Matthew Stover, Test of Metal. I rather liked how Stover used an upjumped slum dweller to take the micky out of an Elder Dragon version of Sauron. In particular, I liked how this Elder Dragon became less a Sauron wannabe and more an arrogant fop that reveled in his magical might. But apparently the order of the day among these purists is to keep all the characters static and unchanging.
