I believe franchises go hand in hand. Yes, the movies are based on the comics, but at the same time, there are fans of the movie who have never read the comics.

Batman Begins was big, but not big enough to be a true influence on the comics. TDK has the chance to be BIG. A defining movie of this decade, even.

So, like how the grapple gun and Burton-style Batmobile were introduced into the comics after the movie...what changes do you think will be made to the comics once TDK proves itself to be the "definition" of Batman?

I'm not sure of what changes will be made but the movie could persuade some viewers to check out the comics. They might get curious to see how Batman is done in the comics and if there's a difference between movie and comics.

That's what Batman Begins did for me. I hadn't touched a comic book for 10-12 years before Batman Begins came out. After I watched, I started going to the comic book store again and picking up anything Batman related.

probably nothing that will last.

I can't even think of something that's "new" in Nolan's movies.

Nothing probably will happen, but something that COULD happen is that joker would have a longer hair and black eyebags (not make up, just from sleep deprivation :woot: ) but thats just artistic choice, story-wise, i got nothing

isn't the cutted smile canon since morrison "a clown at midnight"?

Did anything in Batman Begins actually carry over into the comics? I know the symbol in certain issues sort of looks like the Begins symbol, but that is about it.

The only thing I can think of is maybe , just *maybe*, the whole backpack / cape thing could carry over in certain issues.

The Joker's look. Although there are scarred lip Joker looks already, I think everything from his hair to his non-perma white face will carry on to alot of comics.

Rachel Dawes was almost included in the new Two Face Year One that's coming out, which will be in canon. But editorial was firm on keeping the two lines separate. So that tell you something.

Batman might move back to the city for a while. Slight costume changes that have been mentioned. Some big stories might come out that have a slighter "realer" feel in line with the movies, and this wouldn't be a bad thing, what was Year One, Gotham Central and TLH after all. The big question is the Joker though, I wouldn't be too surprised or even against aspects of TDK appearing in the Joker for a while.

It's healed over and pretty subtle but who knows if it will last after Morrison.

really? :funny: :hoboj: :cwink:

Well... Shane Davis draws Routh Superman and uses the Begins symbol on his Batman in Superman/Batman. That's probably why I enjoy reading the current arc right now.

In Lovers and Madmen, Joker has a cut smile and there's a panel that shows a tumbler influenced batmobile. Even references how he has to plow his way through traffic with it.

Personally I would love to see the comics take a few cues from Nolan's universe.

oh yeah and I'm sure I saw the Narrows mentioned in comic somewhere recently. or am I imagining this?

Don't call the TLH "realistic". There is an undead guy in it.

In his appearance during the "Face The Face" arc, Scarecrow's look was altered to look something more like his attire in his final appearance in "Batman Begins". However, he soon changed back to his classic Scarecrow costume when he showed up in "Detective" next.
