You're welcome. :oldrazz:

But it's not like he ever said he could write Watchmen better than Moore did, so why is there a need to criticize his writing style?

Don't get me wrong, I love Stan Lee--he's a great creator and is probably one of the most likable guys in the world--but I have to admit, it's almost too easy to parody his writing style.

In Stan's defense, though, he's not the worst canidate--imagine if some members of the Hype wrote it. It would only be about Dr. Manhattan's wang and how he defeats Viedt by pouring hot radioactive piss into his mouth. :o

That was terrible. I understand how Stan Lee write but damn that was painful.

Interesting. Not at the same level of seriousness that story needed, but not bad either.

It was funnier the first time I read it, which is quite a while ago by now.

then it wouldnt be as good as moores watchmen would have been

You make that sound like its a bad thing!

He's actually criticizing the American right, not Stan Lee.

Stan Lee is one of the most overrated men in comics, oh how I hate the bastard

Writing style aside, it's the man's (Stan Lee's) creativity that wouldn't be easy to imitate. I know it was in collaboration with other great artists but he was the impetus for all of the big silver age Marvel successes.

Better question: what if Alan Moore had written FF#1, AF #15, etc.?

They would be great. :wow:

I dont think anybody could write it better than Moore. I personally believe Moore is a better writer than Stan Lee. But Moore isnt for the whole showing his name or face everywhere...

did anyone happen to save these by chance? I can't find a working link anywhere. not even on the guys own site.

?????

 what are you on about? he revolutionised superheroes, it sounds corny but it's no exaggeration. He made them human and relate-able for the first time, etc etc, developed the first shared universe and revitalized comics for a new generation that are the creators of today. He built Marvel into todays licensing juggernaut.

Or are you referring to the lack of credit to Kirby, Ditko etc? Fair enough they deserve their due as well but it doesn't take much away from what Stan did.

Stan Lee and Alan Moore are great writers for their times. Lee has come out with a few good one shots, and Moore is still writing his "outside looking in" comics as he always does.

Lee is the king of the Silver age, he gave superheroes problems, and lives outside of the mask.

Moore is the Duke of the Bronze age, serving under King Miller, and he gave superheroes addictions, breakdowns, and impotentacy.

Both are good, but need to be looked at in their prespective time frames.

can anybody re-post these? the internet has vanished them

Alan Moore on the topic of Marvel characters:

"DC characters were flat and one-dimensional. Marvel revolutionised comics by bringing in two-dimensional characters."

Yeah, those seem to be a satire on government propaganda in comics, rather than the Man himself, although he was all too willing to fill his comics with it.
