the cliff notes
-the lady taking care of Hicks is a nurse, she tells him about the news reports the last month.... people disapearing in the north (former Canada)... men, women, children, animals.... reports of citys just turning into ghost towns.
-the government then, just dissapears. The world goes under military control, but the leaders are no where to be found. Military units are going rogue and taking control of towns.
-the prison they were in, two weeks ago, the prison facility manager tells all thh guards and employees that they are now ordered to leave the prison, that they need to go home to their families. He orders a mass execution of all the prisoners Everyone is confused, some, fearing what's going on, decide to stay. The nurse, who was just recently married, decides to stay to treat the wounded prisoners, she called her husband, tells him to come to prison in fear of what's happening, feeling being locked in a maximum security prison is the safest option. He never showed up.
-Hicks, trying to doubt, what he already knows is happening, decided that the best course of action is for him to try and contact Spence. He takes a few guards, and prisoners with him, and they go through the prison, trying to get to the communications tower. There are no lights, and they are lightly armed, the guards with rifles and shotguns, the prisoners armed with broom handles and knives. They make their way to the communications tower, with NO incident, Hicks tries to contact Spence, after a few attempts, and he finally locates the base were Spence is located, Spence, suprised to hear Hicks, tells him that they new, they all knew what happened at LV-426, but what were they supposed to do? WY wanted this beast, and they run everything... your only choice is to go along.. Hicks asks him what he is talking about, Spence tells him their best option is suicide, that they couldn't control it. Hicks, closing his eyes, his fear being realized. Hicks asks Spence if he could rescue them from teh prison, pick them up somehow, Spence says "who will save us"... end of communications
-Hicks asks the guards what their options are. Most do not want to leave, feeling it's the safest place. He finds out though, that there still a chance that there is a vehicle or two in the holding bay on the other side of the prison, but it's not going to do them any good.
-Hicks, along with some Prisoners, the nurse, and two guards decide to go to the bay, and see what their options are there. A bunch of the guards decide to stay behind. As they start on their way, the nurse realizes that if the prison is in lockdown mode, like it is now, none of the cards work, and doors will remain shut, someone needs to go to the control room, stay there, and open the doors as they make their way through the prison. Hicks volunteers to do it, but they need him to operate a helicopter or shuttle if there is one, so the Nurse decides to make her way there, and open the doors as they make their way.
- Of course, now the Aliens enter the picture... picking off crew as they make their way through. As they make their way to the doors, the buzz in on the intercom, and the Nurse opens the door for them.
- they finally make their way to the bay, and discover one helicopter left. There are only 4 left, Hicks, one guard, and two inmates. Hicks tells the nurse to trace their steps and come to them. She tells them she can't. He asks why, she holds down the speak button, he can hear a thumping sound, the aliens are at the control room door. She tells them to go ahead without her, she wishes them luck, Hicks then hears a scream... then silence...
-They make their way off the island, only to discover that the prison was the safest place, the main land is overrun, cars abondoned, houses on fire.... giant building converted into nesting areas..... the world has officially ended.
- He contacts Spence, Spence is suprised they are still alive. He tells them to meet themoutside a small town in Montana.... he will help them out. They fly there, and Spence gives them all uniforms, and clearance cards for the base he is stationed at.
- The base is huge, it's a giant metal dome. Inside, the last reminents of the West coast.
- Aliens attack the base, huge battle, the Aliens are breaking in. Hicks, along with Spence and a few others make their way to an escape shuttle. It was meant for the military commander if all else failed. But, the commander was taken by the invading Aliens. Spence, Hicks, and a few other military personal escape. The shuttle is on auto-pilot. It takes them to the Weyland Yutani's new base of operations, the moon.
- They get their, and they are greated as heros for escaping, but a retnal scan idnetifys Hicks as a convict. They call over for their permission to execute, but it's denied, telling them to touch Hicks.
- Hicks is taken into custody, and placed again, in a holding cell. The door opens, and in walks Ripley. Hicks, estatic to see her, but confused, asks her, what's going on. She responds, what we feared, what we feared, she starts crying. Hicks tells her "it's not your fault, we warned them, we tried to stop them"... she shakes her head "I just wanted to be a mother, these things took away my daughter, I wasn't going to let them take away Newt, it's my weakness, my desire to save a life, destroyed so much more"
-Hicks asks her what she means, turns out, the deal Hicks turned down, Ripley took. They offered her a chance at a normal life, with Newt, but, only if she helps them.
- She showed them were the derelict spacecraft was located, she adivsed them about their life cycle... she was their when they took the remaining eggs off of LV-426... she was there when they impregnated the first humans. She did it all to be with Newt.....
