That would make minimal sense. If Fury has to be in WWII (an idea I don't like), let him be Fury.

well i still say fury for marvel studios filmverse will just be in the present day. As for the whole howling comandos as we were told in the article saying they are in the film. They may not be called howling comandos and they could just be soliders with x howling comandos names as nods to the characters.

And they don't necessarily have to have Fury in The Howling Commandos, and like you said, they don't even necessarily have to BE the howling commandos, they could just be the characters

totally that is probably what they are doing with the howling comando characters. it will probably be just a group of soliders steve works with/we scene in a few scenes and they have the names of the comics howling comandos and all that.
