Those two pictures are the closest to my vision of Batman. Even though I did NOT draw those and take no credit. It just happens to be close to the way I envision Batman. That's MY definitive look of the Batsuit. ^_^

batman's actual costume has always been irrelevant to me, as long as the cape was completely able to wrap around his person.

In the comics there are many definitive Batsuit looks that are favorites of mine. My favorite is the all black Batsuit look.

Which is influenced by the Burton Batsuits and original look with the cape rapped around.

And the classic black and grey can be awesome too.

I concur, that suit rocks! I'm surprised the comics never tried to use that suit despite the movie's popularity. That woulda been awesome.

Good call. This is my fav. I think a lot of the designs, especially more recently, are overkill. Jim Lee draws Batman nicely but it looks too polished and, like most, way too much muscle. I don't really see why Batman has to look like the Incredible Hulk. He should be leaner and more agile. Not to say he can't pack a lot of muscle. I just hate it when they exaggerate the muscle to epic proportions.

This design is more effective in its simplicity.

I know people hate the BB suit and I don't want to get into a debate here. This particular shot, not from the film, sums up the dark, brooding quality of Batman. The way he is hunched over is also very Batman-like. His body is completely drowned in his cape.

The Batman (1989) suit by far.

It's crude, yet menacing and animalistic.

Don't like Batman Returns suit near as much. Too sleak and robotic.

For me, it varies:

* Comics - Year One suit, definitely. Black cape/cowl, no yellow oval, brown pouched utility belt =
* Live-Action - Although West's is probably the closest there's ever been to a comics-faithful suit (at least for its time, anyway), I have to go with the Returns suit: to me it has that feel of being what it's supposed be - body armor - without overdoing it or otherwise diminishing his aura of menace.
* Animated - JLU. To me it's a nice compromise between the B:TAS and TNBA designs, but the clincher is the Bob Kane ears that jut out slightly.

I love the non-yellow bat-symbol. That´s the most important reason for me to like a Batsuit design. Other ones are a dark blue or black cape, cowl, gauntlets and boots, and a box like utility belt, washed yellow. And my favorite version of the movie suit is BB and TDK, but I can´t decide which one I like better.

The eyes were perfect. The Cape was perfect. The Belt was perfect. A little cheap for a billionaire, but cool though. Definitely not the best suit, but excellent vision none-the-less.

I love the BB suit. I especially love this shot.
