What Is The Ideal BBQ Meal To You?

It's summertime, I'm sure many of us love to cook out and have barbecues, so I wonder: what's a BBQ meal that instantly makes your mouth water?

For me, I'm simple, I love a good burger and some hot dogs. But if I really want to show out, it's putting one of these bad boys on the grill:



Tomahawk, a nice garden salad and a good cold drink, I'm in heaven.

We call them "achuras": Sweetbreads and kidney. Also: blood sausage, chorizo, roasted potatoes.

Meat: there's no boundaries as long as it is tender and juicy.

Beef brisket and pork ribs, both which I have smoked for at least 6 hours in my cabinet smoker. I prepare them with a sweet bourbon rub and chili powder.

Sides include:
baked beans that I simmer with half a can of Dr Pepper and cayenne pepper.
Potato salad (my wife’s recipe)
Banza macaroni and cheese made with chickpea pasta
Spicy pickles and deviled eggs as appetizer.

Homemade ice cream for desert

This was my Father’s Day this year.

If I come by it, there is also not many things in this world better than smoked mutton.

I think so. I usually get mutton when I am visiting Owensboro, KY for work. It’s a small town on the KY/Indiana border. They are kind of famous for bbq mutton. It’s crazy good.

I’ve never made it myself though.
