The Dark Knight What is the Joker's true identity?

I haven't read any of those. I definitely won't now if they're f***ing with Batman's origin.

dont worry they dont. they try to keep it in continuity whenever they could.

"In 2006's Infinite Crisis #6, another cosmic crisis reestablishing that Chill murdered Thomas and Martha Wayne and adding for the first time that he had been arrested on that same night for their murder. This change is consistent with the previous year's film Batman Begins, in which Chill was also caught shortly after murdering the Waynes. It would also make sense, given that in Batman: Year One, he is not mentioned or referred to after the shooting, presumably having been caught. The writers at DC Comics intend to show his final fate, which supposedly happened while Bruce was an adolescent, thus never giving him the chance to confront Chill, much like Begins."

Hell, everyone seemed to be content when the Wayne killer was never found/identity never revealed, but there were little complaints when Nolan made Joe Chill kill them, and even more--put him on trial.

Hm, I'll have to read crisis again...

Yeah, I was one of those guys who was content before Chill was brought back to the comics. I just loved the irony that the world's greatest detective couldn't find the identity of a two-bit hoodlum.

I don't mind Chill's role at all in the new movie-verse; it worked great for the film(!), but I do wish that DC Comics would stop letting the movies influence their stories so much and just tell them with the groundwork already laid out before them.

I'm going to write a Batman comic book in which I reveal the Joker's true identity!

Duh duh duh duh!!

It all makes sense now...

In "The Killing Joke," the Joker is shown as a person; but his name and/or identity is not revealed.

in Hush Returns, which follows the Killing Joke origin, his name is revealed as "Jack" but no last name is given.

He's Jack Napier.

He won't be killing Wayne's parents. David Goyer told me that himself.

Apparently it really bothered him when he saw it in the 89 version.

His identity was never really placed into question outside of those alternate reality books. He's Jack Napier. The real question is what kind of man Jack Napier was. Accordingly Black and White he was just like the Joker in terms of personality and the whole crazy clown thing is a gimic The Joker employs to stay out of real jail since he has no problems escaping from Arkham.

I heard it from my cousin's BFF's who works at MGM and also knows a mexican guy who works cleaning up the parking lot who knows another guy who washes the windows on Chris Nolan's Aston Martin. He says that's tha wurd on teh streetz.

DAMN! Well, I can't dispute those kinds of sources. You win, good sir!

I used to own The Super Dictionary (1978) by Joe Kubert when I was a kid. If I remember right the bios in this book had Joker's real name as Jack Napier as well. I could be wrong.
