I just looked up that guy and it seems he's done a lot of interesting stuff. Looks like he died really young though, only 30.

Yes a sad story. There's a great biopic called The Whole Wide World (1996), starring Vincent D'Onofrio as Howard and Renee Zellweger as Novalyne Price his girlfriend. Even has music by Hans Zimmer!

Just read Kill the Minotaur 1 and 2 as well. They are good if you like Greek mythology type fantasy.
