An astronomer who talked with Superman predicted that the sun going supernova could have back on itself and just destroyed the piece of the planet that was facing the sun. He said that the saw building like structures on te other side and there very well could be life there.

Jor-El programmed the crystals to say the planet was destroyed, but who knows if he was wrong.

He can't. Superman still needs to breathe. However, he can compress more air in his lungs (Superbreath) which allows him to survive in space for periods of time, but not indefinitely.

All these points have been said throughout the thread, but I'll just summarize them.

Superman can hold his breathe for a very long time with his powers, which is why he can survive in space.

Because he isn't under our yellow sun, eventually his powers would start to fade.

Going to Krypton is a 5year round trip, so even if he had his powers he couldn't hold his breathe for that long.

given the quality found in action figures anmore, this run is very dissapointing, as was the Batman Begins line last year. Whoever okays these Licences should be demoted.
