What is your favorite Halloween movie?

Since Halloween is not that far off and the restart of the franchise comes out next year, I decided to start a poll based on the Halloween series. So what is your favorite Halloween movie?

If anyone votes for Halloween III they'll have me to face.

I'm a huge fan of the first two, I really like them. Now I know I'm gonna get flamed for this one, but my favorite Halloween movie is Halloween 4. I felt that this one was the most suspenseful film of the eight, with some of the best story-telling I've seen in a HORROR movie. The scenes in which Dr. Loomis talks to Michael are genuinely creepy. Although the mask was different from the masks from the first two films, I found it the scariest because it was unusually plain-looking. I also liked the ending in which Michael is shot numerous times and the earth caves in under his feet. It had a somewhat poetic or romantic sense to it, as if he was so evil, that Hell itself opened a hole in the earth specifically for him. Of course, they had to ruin that for me by making a Halloween 5. But still, if I pretend that Halloween 5 and up didn't exist, it's a very nice ending to Michael Myers.

#3 should never be listed or mention

Halloween. It's just so fcking good. Helloween II is great too. H20 was fun. Halloween III sucks. Haven't seen the others.

I voted for Halloween. It is not only the best Halloween film, it is the best slasher film, and one of the best horror films ever made. Here is my run down for the rest...

Halloween II- A very unoriginal bore fest. Rick Rosenthal opts to rip off John Carpenter's style as opposed to using his own style. It makes for a mediocre film.

Halloween III- Awesome movie. A lot of people hate it and I think they only hate it because of the absence of Michael Myers. But Michael Myers isn't in Gone With the Wind either, and that's a classic. Point is, if you don't want to see a movie without Micheal Myers, don't watch Halloween III.

Halloween 4-The premise in this one is very intriguing. Killing children? Holy crap where are the sensors? But the movie was more action and less on suspense and fear.

Halloween 5- Well...it's fun. By no means great, but I dig it.

Halloween 6- This is an atrocity to the character of Micheal Myers. Instead of making him the usual mental patient lurking outside of your window he is now a victim of a curse (aww...poor Mikey) I hate this one.

Halloween H20- A decent and worthy sequel. It takes the franchise back to its roots.

Halloween 8- Better than Halloween II because Rosenthal did it in a very un Carpenter like way. Kudos for that Rick, but the story was lacking.

I like them all personally. Although III had not Myers, It was still a kooky decent film. 1,2,4 are my favorites though.

I'm kinda biased here. I met the cinematogarpher for Halloween V recently, and was very impressed. The movie may be "so-so", but go back and look at how the mvoie is lit! Especially the parts in the Myers' home.

Anyhoo, the first film is the best, by far. It's the simplest, more "real". Halloween II is a little boring, but has a good story. And I like H20 for it's relaxed pace and more mature tone (It took them six films. SIX. Geez.)

Exactly. While some of the sequels may be fun if youre a fan, none of them are even close to being in the same boat in terms of quality as the original Halloween. Most horror movies aren't.

I like them all, actually. Even Resurrection. The only one I didn't like was 3.

I voted for the Original Halloween, but I like also like Halloween II, 4, 5, 6, H20 and even Resurrection. I didn't mind part III, but i'm not going to get into that right now.

Halloween of course.
Halloween II is the only sequel that should be acknowledged.

Let's just say that it should not be called Halloween, because it has NOTHING to do with the first too.
And when I say nothing, I mean NOTHING.

The first one is the only one worth mentioning. ;) Classic horror.

Though I'm looking forward to seeing what Rob Zombie does with it.

I think the first one is not only the best, because its such a great horror movie, but it is probably the only Halloween movie or slasher movie really good.

I was prepared to type the exact same thing lol. Good to know I'm not the only one that appreciates Halloween 4. I know it's considered blasphemous to not pick the original Halloween but I feel H4 is definitely the best sequel in the franchise and just as good as the original. It was a very tough choice. Also, Danielle Harris has one of the best performances I've ever seen from a child (they usually annoy me). Considering the screentime she got she could have ruined H4 Jake Lloyd style but instead she ended up being one of the bright spots of the movie.

As if anyone would vote for anything other than the first one.

The original Halloween.
By far the best of the bunch.
