The fans got the chance to vote for or against that idea back when the remake wasn't even public knowledge. They voted no and smartly so. THat's a 10 second movie where Pinhead would rip Michael apart with the flick of a hand. That fight is seriously too one sided.
Zombie's true remake portion was very interesting intense and by that I mean the part with Scout Taylor Compton as Laurie. I thought she was very believable as Laurie. She was a much more realistic version of Laurie and had more of a character than Curtis's did in the original.(Curtis's Laurie didn't actually become a character until the sequels, until then she was just a cardboard final girl) I didn't like Zombie's ''prequel" part however. I thought it was uninteresting ran too long and the young Michael wasn't that great of an actor. McDowell however was good as Loomis in both parts and they did the smart thing by making Loomis as different as they could from Pleasance's version.
I'll be there for this movie day one irregardless of what it shapes up to be, but I'd hope they would do the following: Keep Mane as Michael. Keep Scout as Laurie. She deserves the return to the role. She's such a sweet and genuine girl and really wants to return to the role. Keep Danielle Harris as Annie, but don't let Annie overstay her welcome. Keep Brad Dourif as Sherrif Brackett, maybe even make him the ''Loomis" figure. Let's face it Loomis died in this universe, there's no way he can be alive, despite what the DVD/Blu-Ray would lead you to believe.
