So, over the years of reading this forum and others as well as speaking with forum members; I can see the different takes and opinions on Entertainment value and what others view as their ideal "perfect" vision of a film.
Based on the mix of visuals, story, acting, etc. What would you claim is the perfect film or films?

For me, I'd probably have to say that The Count of Monte Cristo (2002 version) is in my eyes a perfect film. Great acting, amazing sets and visuals, excellent story telling and all around amazing film.

There's a couple that come to mind but my favorite film of all time...

Everything about it works.

I don't know if I have one. Even my favorite films I can think of something I don't like or would change, even if relatively minor. Like for something like Raiders of the Lost Ark, I certainly wouldn't change much. But I'd definitely get rid of things like that shot where a fly flies into Belloq's mouth or the bit where Indy falls into the Well of Souls and you can see the cobra's reflection in the glass between it and Harrison Ford. Even the best movies have some flaws.

I third Back to the Future. Over the last few months I've really come to have a new found appreciation for it on every level. Everything just works.

Another choice of mine would be Empire Strikes Back. It often flip flops with BTTF for my favorite film of all time depending on my mood.

Psycho is the perfect film to me.

The characters, the tone, the drama, the psychology, everything is immaculate. Any of Hitchcock’s films from The 39 Steps to Marnie, if you cherry pick are just about perfect to me. The man set the blueprint.

Just curious guys are are there any lesser known films that you would consider perfect?
Remember it's about what is A Perfect Film to YOU!
It does NOT have to be a classic film.

Children Of A lesser God.
I was not born deaf.
But,I was born with a minor case of Cerebral Palsy.
When Marlee Matlin stood up for her independence, it was as if I was watching myself speak.

I'm a sucker for noirs, so I put The Last Seduction on a pedastal. It doesn't get talked about enough. Linda Fiorentino's character was so diabolically clever and how she didn't get an Oscar for that is beyond me.

Oh, I remember that film!
You are RIGHT!

I don't think of movies in terms of being perfect. As @Kahran Ramsus has pointed out, every movie has flaws (or perceived flaws). Some really good suggestions have been made so far (Psycho in particular). For me, I was completely entranced by the extended version of Once Upon a Time in America. The acting and tone through out the movie kept me glued to the screen. Don't bother with the theatrical release.

They should rerelease the extended version of this film.

A favorite of mine as well.
The Count of Monte Cristo,The First BATMAN!

I saw it years ago and bought it the second it came out on DVD. That final scene between James Woods and Robert De Niro was a mind blower.

I think it all depends on what kind of 'mood' one is at a certain time for watching a 'certain type of film' but my criteria for how it makes me feel, the production of the film, how it emotes me, the performances, the general 'warm feeling' aspect of it all, and it's achievement based on budget etc.

Tops would be....

SUPERMAN THE MOVIE / BACK TO THE FUTURE / E.T. and the majority of Pixar, especially Up and The Incredibles.

The Dark Knight

Wouldn’t change a thing in any of them and TDK has my favorite performance of all time with Ledgers Joker.

Spielberg actually did that on purpose, just for fun.

I believe the glass has been removed since the blu ray.

The Matrix, The Truman Show, Into the Spider-verse, Infinity War, Beetlejuice, Waking Life, Fight Club and probably a hundred more.
