Awhile back when I saw his plans for Superman, in Wizard magazine, I was very excited, and I loved even more what he had to say. He was talking about how it didn't make much sense to him that Superman was a big muscled guy because that's not where his powers come from. At first I thought "WOW! This guys is saying exactly what I've been thinking for years" But now that Gary Frank has been on the book for a few months there is somthing about seeing a thinner Superman that bugs me, I don't know why. What Frank said about him makes total sense but there's just somthing missing. Anyone have any other thoughts?

I should have said "What ARE your thoughts on Gary Frank?" Damnit, my high school English teacher would kill me if she saw that lol.

I really like his take on Supes. I'd like to see it carry over to other characters in the DCU.

There was a point when Bogdanave was doing Superman that I thought I was reading Megaton Man (a superhero spoof with a ridiculously muscled superhero star). I wanted to pop down to DC comics and ask what the hell they were thinking.

I serioulsy think that Gary's Superman is still muscular but not ridiculoulsy so.

Yeah he's not really skinny just not big and blucky. Though I do love the fact that he draws him to look like Christopher Reeve.

I really love his Superman. Maybe one of the best I've seen in the past few years. Haven't been crazy about this storyline, but that's because I know nothing about the Legion of Superheroes so I get a little lost. But really am loving his art so far.

Gary Frank's Superman is your average build of a man, reminds me of Neal Adams' version who wasn't so huge either.

I think DC should just have Frank completely redraw "Last Son" for the TPB, because by this point it'd be out before the story actually gets finished in ACTION. :whatever: :oldrazz:

It took a little getting used, but I do like Frank's art in general. It's not one of my favorites though; I liked Pacheco's and Guedes' interpretations better.

Maybe we are not used to see Superman that way. I agree with Czar Colossus, I like Pacheco's more. IMO, Superman seems more powerful when he is less muscular because I immediately think that if he can lift this or that, it's because of his powers not his muscles. I find it more obvious.
In a contradictory way, I love McGuiness' Supes.

I am very much enjoying Gary Frank's art. He's probably my favorite Superman artist in the past 4 or 5 years I'd say. I just really enjoy his art, and that new image with Superman and Braniac is completely amazing.

I became a fan of Gary Frank after reading Supreme Power and I enjoy his work on Superman just as much if not moreso.

Not a big fan.

I love the way he draws Superman's body, but his face looks kinda creepy and off sometimes. My favorite Superman artists are Byrne, Pacheco, Swan, Davis (from the recent Superman/Batman, among a few others.
