I'd like to see more Westerns. The market isn't saturated with them, so the ones we get are usually quality films, but I would like to see a few more released every year.

I'd like to see more intelligent, philosophical movies that aren't too in-your-face about it; just because it's smart doesn't mean it isn't entertaining. But lately it seems like movies either have intellectual value or entertainment value, never both. I've noticed there are plenty of TV shows that manage to balance the two but movies, not so much.
Also, I love medieval fantasy movies, but there seems to be fewer and fewer of them and the only ones that do come out are cheesy romances.
And I want to see some fight scenes that are actually technical and not just people throwing their fists at each other, shooting guns every which way, or swinging swords at one another aimlessly! Not every fight scene has to be Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon-worthy but they could at least try to make it seem like the fighters know what the hell they're doing.

Yes, Medieval fantasy movies would be great!

Scary too.

Something like Diablo or Oblivion the VGs.

A sport movie on a Fantasy/Alien world would also be cool!

Say what you will about The Phantom Menace, the podrace is a NEAT concept! :)

My general style of movies is basically anything from (500) Days of Summer to Dr. Strangelove.

I guess I'm more of a dramatic movie buff. I enjoy movies like Moon over say Independence Day. Another example would be I like The Assassination of Jesse James over say 3:10 to Yuma. I also like movies like Michael Clayton over State of Play.

Seeing how Moon, Assassination and, Michael Clayton all have serious dramatic performances and are all my favorite, I guess I'm into dramatic roles of a more realistic realm. I don't know how to word it, seeing how Moon isn't technically realistic by todays standards but, I like those as apposed to the movies of their same genera. So I guess, those are the kind of movies that get me into the movie seats. The kind I want to see more of.

Scary but not in-your-face type of horror.

I always liked horror films that relied on suspense and atmosphere more then gore or cheap jump scares. But you don't see enough of those type of horror films nowadays.

I would like to see more Westerns and puzzle solving films.

I go along with this. I like movies that give me something to think about, but there's not a lot of them.

I think that one of the reasons that so many movies are disappointing is because filmmakers underestimate the intelligence of the audience.

:xmen:

japan and Spain is where this would be at

I'd love to see more "serious" takes on high school, such as Elephant.

I agree. I'd like to see something like 500 Days of Summer meets...eh..............eh.....

...

I've got nothing. But, you know the movie would more than likely wind up being an indie film. Big studios can't crank stuff out like that. :p

Westerns
Spy movies, particularly comedies
Film noir or noir-influenced movies
Musicals with actors who actually have theater backgrounds
Sci-fi movies centered around sci-fi themes (Minority Report, Children of Men and Moon come to mind from this decade)

I want to see more superhero movies; to be exact I want to see superhero movies that are extremely proud of their source material and are faithful to them. I want to see someone try to bring the designs of artists like Kirby to the big screen. With today's advances in effects, it's becoming more and more possible.

Animated movies? Along the lines of what Pixar is doing

I AGREE!!!

Gore is so Overrated!

Paranormal Activity is 100 times better than Saw or Friday the 13th!
