I kind of liked my X-Men Origins: Cable... I thought it had a real Fable feel to the whole story you... Mostly because in Last Stand Cyclops goes missing and Phoenix dies but as you remember from the comics Jean Grey is probably still alive somewhere...
X-Men Origins: Cable would be the first Origin story to take place After the X-Men movies...
This is the story of Story i would write...
Plot:
The year is 2013 - The world is at war, Man Vs Mutant Vs Machine... After the inccident known as M-Day several sides were torn even more apart. The Non-Mutant's had a split idea of how to handle Mutants, Trask was authorised to build Sentinal robotics to help aid the army against agressive mutants that were a threat to non-mutants. On ther other hand Cameron Hodge who worked closely underground helped develope a techno-organic virus that would seek out the mutant gene in every living being and attempt to shut them down... It was in experimental stages and considered unsafe as caused deaths in mutants. It wasnt long before the Techno-Organic virus known as the Legacy Virus which used nano technology was changed to target Sentinals thus causing many to be more hostile not only going after mutants but targting non-mutants. Mutants are on the run, there awaken from the dirt and rumble of remaining war torn buildings is Cyclops, excatly as he appeared before his disappearance. He sees some mutants about to be killed by a sentinal when he saves them with his optical blast, The mutants are saved and to thank him they take him to see Forge. Forge leads a small team known as the X-Force that is taking a stand against the sentinals, Later you find out it was set up in Xaviers honer. Cyclops soon finds out that the x-men were killed not long before a master sentinal was targeted on them. X-Force was created soon after by one of the surviving members, Jean Grey... Jean Grey had traveled back in time too when Phoenix took over her body, Jean was transported a couple of years earlier not long after the master sentinal was created. Jean with the help of forge set up X-Force, however Jean was made powerless and was taken to a sentinal prision. They make a plan and rescue her from the prision but it alerts the attention of the leader of the sentinal programe, Bastion. Jean and Cyclops are reunited and the group decide to head to secure land to try and figure what exactly happend. the movie then jumps to a year later, Jean and Scott had made a kind of life for themselves on Genosha which is one of the last resorts for mutant kind to go, protected by forcefields or some futuristic device that probably forge created. There they meed Askani who kind of overseas everything that happens in the city. During there time there Jean has fallen pregnant with Scotts baby Forge and several other X-Force members discover that Bastion is planning an attack on Genosha but not by force. Instead they send smaller Sentinal beings to release the Legacy Virus onto the island. Forcing everyone to flea the island, outside the island the mutants are attacked by sentinals, Cyclops, Jean are captured and taken to the master prision where they are confronted by bastion who plans to make good examples out of them. Forge leads x-force to go rescue them under orders from Askani who knows more about cyclops and Jean than she is telling them. Only that there baby will save them one day. Using Sentinal technology He removes Jean's baby for processing however X-Force manage to rescue Cyclops and Jean + the new born baby. In the process Bastion is killed for failer by Master Mold the master sentinal that was designed to lead the sentinal beings. Master Mold appoints several Nimrod units to hunt them down. Askani meets up with them and states they have to go to Alaska were they can be truely free from the sentinals as they dont function well in cold weather and they gain a better chance at defending themselves. The new baby is called Christopher after Cyclop's father that he never met. Whilst in Alaska The new baby is checked over by scientists who were concerned by how the sentinals managed this operation. It seems that Bastion had infected the child with the Legacy Virus but it is inactive. The only way for them to cure him would be to face Master Mold and destroy him as he is the only key that can reactive the virus in his body. Cyclops and Jean allow themselves to be kidnapped by the Nimrod units that are slightly more primative than Bastion. They take them to the prision where they are brought before Mastermold, Mastermold was given information about every mutant they processed and knows there strengths and weaknesses, Cyclops is made blind after his visor is removed Jean's psychic powers is unless against a sentinal mind but still retains her teleknetic ability however due to a sentinals size and weight its to strong to be influenced. Working together Scott and Jean fight several Sentinal robots that are brought to destroy them. In a final stand they manage to Destroy Mastermold and the mutant prisioners are set free causing a riot between mutant and machines that are left. Not only have the released the good mutants but the bad ones as well, they manage to escape but wonder if they have caused a worser fait than before. A few of the good prisioners return with them to Alaska where one prisioner named Trevor Fiztroy who could travel through time said he could return them to there time. Askani states that if there baby was to survive it has to remain in this time due to the legacy virus could reactive when mastermold is created. However they could avoid this future by stopping the sentinal programe from ever being created, Scott and Jean agree to return back to the past.... Askani is left to look after baby chris revealing to the baby that Little Sister will look after you now...
Movie ends...
Something along the lines of that, as an origin you dont want adult cable to be told as there inst really a story to follow but how Cable came about that would be quiet an interesting story... plust would make way to use the Days of future past and age of apocaylpse story line.
