I know there's songs like rock or pop or whatever that can make you feel good, but I mean when you're feeling down about things. For me it would have to be:

Morrissey
Flaming Lips
The Eels
Johnny Cash

Music is like booze. You should only indulge if you're already up.

To "pick me up when I'm feeling down"?

"Aw, life is good! You'll never be a third as cool as Jimmy Page! John Bonham died by vomit! and you'll never, EVER write a song as good as this!"

Sounds like a real pick-me-up.

The Smiths - especially The Boy With A Thorn In His Side

So I take it Zeppelin is the music you listen to when you're binge drinking late at night by yourself then:confused:

Tony C and the Truth - Kind of a blues/rock mix.
Tom Petty always helps too...great road trip music too.

nerp. That would be "Dixie Dregs", "Yes", "Devo", Bowie, "fIREHOSE" or "King Crimson"(80's incarnation).
Now shut up, I'm feeling a mood coming on. :(

Why can there never just be a genuine thread on the hype. It has to always end up with some ass in friggin' clown shoes!

The Flaming Lips last four albums (at war, yoshimi, the soft bulleting and zaireeka)
Sigur Ros second album
Elliot Smith's From A Basement On A Hill
The B-52's Cosmic Thing
Fobia's entire discography

Thanks, man. I'm trying to tickets for them when they come to Scotland in November.

Techno, metal (DragonForce, Manowar), 80s pop music (A-Ha, Duran Duran, Katrina and the Waves)

As for an individual song, "Higher and Higher" by Jackie Wilson .
