What next for the WWE, does it have a reason to exist?

The WWE convinces small children it's real, in their formative years little kids are impressed by the likes of Val Venis.

sorry....the term over a barrel basically means....when two parties are negotiating over something and one side has all the leverage....Example: You and I are haggling over the price of a car....I don't have a car and you own the only operating car in 20 miles and i really need a car.....you can basically charge whatever you want for the car...

Hency why parents should be supervising what their kids are watching....same with UFC....I've been to UFC events where parents are bringing their kids with them and I've seen kids after the event re-enacting what they saw.....just because one is a sport and one isn't doesn't negate its impact on impressionable viewers
 
and jericho can get whatever he wants at the moment?

I'll be sending my son to boxing like my dad did with me as soon as he's old enough.

No that's what the WWE is teaching, sport is teaching something else.

Nope, so he learns right and wrong and has an outlet for his aggression in a sporting setting. I also hope he plays rugby which I actually coach two evenings a week to a team of 18 year olds.

but you can't guarantee that....you can't tell me that every child, whether its boxing or martial arts, doesn't know that other kids don't know what they know, that they are going to follow the instructions of their teacher or sensei (sorry if i'm using the wrong honorific there) and not use what they know when they shouldn't.....because my 11 year old cousin is sporting a broken wrist proving the contrary....
 
I recently tried to catch up with WWE as I had not been keeping up for a few years and Oh! my does it suck, WWE was great in the late 90s and early 00s but now it just is not the same. Wrestlers like Cena just are no way close to what Austin and The Rock were.

I am a big Undertaker fan but come on he really needs retire.
 
He put on a decent showing though. Considering it was only his second pro fight, and he was fighting Frank Mir (former ufc heavyweight champ). I'd say he did DAMN good. If he hadn't left his leg open when pulling his arm free (just shows lack of experience), I'm sure he would have stood a good chance of knocking Mir out.
 
that was one of my first thoughts as it seems like he tried to win the fight in the first 30 seconds....I was like slow down brock, you dont need to win the fight right away...I would hope more in ring experience makes him better..training only does so much...
 
If he keeps the intensity, and heavy striking but learns to take his time and avoid leaving himself open for submission he could do very well. What he needs most is fight experience. I honestly see him as a threat in the division within a year. Seriously though, fighting Mir in only your second pro fight, and actually bringing it to him for most of that 90 seconds is quite an accomplishment in my opinion.
 
what did bother me was after the fight, I bounced around to some of the mma message boards and some of the people there were all upset that a wwe wrestler was in the octagon, that it was a disgrace...bla bla bla...and they were also on about how there were about 28-30 wwe superstars in attendance....how wrestling is fake and they arent real athletes...
 
He even got a bad reaction from the crowd there. Not to mention losing a point for the punch to the back of the head, where any other fighter in that position would have gotten a warning first. I think he's definitly going to have a hard time proving to the fans/refs/fighters that he's for real and not just some "fake wwe guy".
 
as a fan of both things....I dont see why people would get cranky because wwe guys were there....what? they cant have a good time in Vegas? I know it was the hot ticket that weekend....I hope he does well in the MMA world
 
I 'm not sure I understand the Chris Benoit thing. They say it has nothing to do with steroids because his brain was like that of a 90 year old man with dementia . Ok that sounds better but wait , why was his brain that defunct.
Also should we be concerned about these old men going into a rage. Is grandpa too dangerous. Also does this make Chris Benoit innocent.??

I used to watch WWE when it was still WWF. The reason why it intrigued me since I was just a toddler was because all the wrestlers were like cartoon characters. The characters were memorable. Lately, they all look the same. They all look like they are on the roids and wear the same manties.

You have, what, "The Legend Killer"? A dude with a crew cut and briefs.

Then you have Brock Lesner...with a crew cut and briefs.

Then you have...well jeeze, at least The Undertaker and Hogan (?) are still around.
