I just Ulead GIf Animator 5, it's a good little program that will handle the average GIF maker's needs. Sadly, it's going to cost you if you get it the conventional way. But I was never a fan of the conventional, I'll send you a PM.

Yeah, Ulead Gif Animator 5 or Adobe ImageReady are what most use. Takes a while to learn how to use either, though I've found Ulead to be easier.
