Last I heard all of the old cast members would be playing the parents of the new Goonies but everythin has just been rumors. And just for the record Edison Force was straight to dvd and starred Justin Timberlake, Kevin Spacey, Morgan Freeman, LL Cool J, Piper Perabo, John Heard, Cary Elwes and Dylan McDermott.

My point is you can have oscar caliber actors in a movie and it still can go straight to dvd. The straight to dvd release market is quite successful these days.

Yeah, especially for movies that didn't have too great a box office return, some movies DVD sales is practically the only reason for sequels.

Not really I was using your statement to provide my example. You said Sean Astin alone means it wouldn't go straight to dvd and I provided you an example that makes that statement untrue. I mean I am pretty sure people would have claimed the same thing about Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey before Edison Force.

jesus how long has it taken to get this movie anywhere near made? Plus, I wouldnt really care for a sequel unless donner et all were on board....and even then, its such an eighties movie, I doubt they could capture the same spirit. I remember seeing the kid who played chunk get interviewed, was a pretty witty kid...I bet hes a stand-up comedian by now...or, um dead.
