The Dark Knight Rises What time are you showing up for TDKR IMAX midnight showing?

I've never been to a midnight show, so I'm clueless. Especially since I'm going to the IMAX at the Irvine Spectrum where long lines are common for event films.

Probably around 9pm so we can embarrass ourselves amongst the theater folk and audience members.

I still haven't picked out what I want to wear or which plushie I'll be bringing with...
I need one thats specifically big enough to sob into - its gonna be an emotional night.

When I saw The Dark Knight I got there at 6, which was way too early. When I saw The Avengers I got there at 10 and I had a great seat. So I'd say 10 would be fine but if you want absolutely any choice in seating, then the earlier the better.

I'm going to the Marathon at AMC Empire 25 and can only show up about an hour beforehand due to work, though my friend is going to try and get there before 4pm.

If you want the best seats prepare to get there sometime in the afternoon, maybe even earlier if you are going to a place where it will be crazy like Lincoln Square (never saw a Batman movie there but with the Transformers films I was stuck with third or fourth row after showing up over three hours in advance for first showing of Dark of the Moon, and had to go first row for Revenge of the Fallen which I got there a little over half an hour in advance on second day of release, which required me to take a tylenol to get through the film without a huge headache).

i have reserved seating but i wanna take thrill in the experience...it is nolans last bat film afterall

I got all this planned out a year ago from today. Few months ago I requested 3 days off from work [Wednesday/Thursday/Friday] so I sleep the whole day on Wed, then stayup through Thur. to Friday so I can carpool with my g/f, sister and 2 friends of mine and literally stake out in front of the Rave Theater at 8am until they open and will wait until we get the chance to enter and go in to get our seats as fast as possible on the top row in the IMAX theater under the film protector so we get the best view from above to watch TDKR in all it's glory. :D

But I still trying to figure out if I want to buy tickets for BB and TDK to see in IMAX format for the first time for BB and again for TDK which is so epic and getting nostalgia for it. Also gonna see if we can fake a birthday for one of us to get reserved seatings. xD lol

Isnt Rave reserved seating? When I saw Mi:4 it was.

For TDK we showed up at 10am for the midnight showing, and were maybe 50 people back in line. Will probably be planning for 6am this year. Getting close to being a 24 hour wait haha.

EDIT: We go in a group of 20 people, so we take turns waiting and what not. It's hard to get seating together for such a large group.

I already spoke with Rag about it, he said he's willing to form a group

I remember him mentioning that. Guess I'll ask him on FB when it gets closer. I have 8 people in my group, but I'm the only Hyper.

I may be going to a early screening on July 17th at 9:00pm, it so I will be there super early like at 6:30 or 7pm. I got screwed outta so many early screenings of movies because the theater over book screenings and had to turn people away. s

You might want to think about showing up a little bit earlier than that, just in case....

:wow: Where do you see it that you have that many people THAT early? I mean, I'm a huge Batnut...but even I can't see swinging in that early.

When I saw TDK I showed up at 10 am just to be the first in line. But to my dismay there were about 10 people already there that had camped out the night before.

Ill be in line 3 and a half hours early. so 8:30 PM my imax seats 550 people. so i figure only 150 or so people will be there or less. as long as im not in the front or sides or dead back im good.

I am also going to see it at the Irvine Spectrum at midnight. I have no idea what time to get there though! I honestly don't mind waiting in line for 6-8 hours. I just don't want to get there at 4pm and be the 100th person in line. I remember for TDK I got in line about 5 and was still about the 15-20th person in line. But that was in Salt Lake City. Not quite sure what its going to be like at the Spectrum.

I'm going to the IMAX Marathon which is starting at 6:15, I'll probably get there around 4-5

Mine is just a digitial midnight showing but I'm gonna show up around 10. I think 2 hours will be good enough.

I'm attending the marathon the 19th..It starts at 6pm but I am planning on getting to the theater around 1pm

I actually arrive at the london bfi at around 10-11 on thursday night despite the film starting at 6 the next morning, I get the two other films to watch in IMAX while i wait, so that's a treat, will still be quite surreal. I need to severely destroy my normal sleeping pattern to be wide awake for it.

Yup same here, Im goin with friends, so I'm gonna grab a huge lunch around noon and pick up some snacks and other things for the night, and head in around 1-2 pm. If its not too crowded then ill hang around elsewhere. The limit i think will be about 3pm to line up for good enough seats. Im sure people will be there noon and before.

I actually want closer to the screen so i don't mind if i don't have first dibs on seats. the AMC imax sucks, so id wanna sit closer to get the more genuine IMAX feeling haha.

Hey guys I don't post on here too often, obviously, but I have a bit of dilemma/question. I have 2 tickets for the midnight showing at Irvine Spectrum IMAX. From the sound of it there are a few people here who are also attending that showing. It turns out I won't be seeing it there, but at a different IMAX theater closer to where I live. Im not looking to make a quick buck or anything off these tickets. But does anyone have a desire here to buy those tickets from me? If not, do you have any suggestions as to where I might be able to sell them quickly? Thought I'd offer them to you guys first. PM me if interested. Thanks!

Here in Austin for the Midnight showing at Bob Bullock (the only real IMAX in Austin), for the TDK I got in line around 5pm and was 2nd in line, so I'll probably just head over after work this time, around 5pm.

It was a very long wait, but by 5:30 or so, there were about 20 people in line, and by 8pm, 3 local news stations were there taping and interviewing people in line. They also had a bunch of games and a costume contest (which my friend won and was on 2 different local news casts). Even though I was 2nd in line, when we got let into the theater, a bunch of press were already seated, I remember seeing Harry and his crew from Aint it cool, sitting in the back middle.
