They're all decent westerns. They each have good points and bad points. He's the standard strong jawed principled man of action. It's the secondary characters that help elevate these above "B" movie rating. THUNDER OVER THE PLAINS is helped by Lex Barker playing against type as a jerk....and RIDING SHOTGUN has an interesting performance by Vic Perrin. Perrin was one of the top voice over actors at the time (he is probably best remembered as "the control voice" on THE OUTER LIMITS) and in this he is a featured player who doesn't speak a word. He wanders throughout scenes appearing in deep thought as he slowly makes a noose out of a length of rope. Scott's great westerns started just a couple of years after these. How are these? Been wanting to catch more Randolph Scott films after watching Shoot-Out at Medicine Bend.
