SHUTTER ISLAND
Quality = 8.5/10
Joy = 8/10

This is, apparently, an underrated movie, and some might dislike it if they are unaware of the twist ahead of watching it.
That quote is not in the movie, I just paraphrased Ruffalo's last line as Bruce Banner in Marvel's the Avengers and used it for this gif.

Quality = 6/10
Joy = 6.5/10

Let's just say that the death of Bruce Lee and editing the movie to keep his few scenes and mix them with scenes that half heartedly hide the face of his stand-in really depowered the effect this movie.was supposed to have.

These are two movies I watched in the past few days, not one of the ones I watched (or rather mostly played and used as background noise) today.

MAD MAX (1979)
Quality = 9/10
Joy = 1/10

I enjoyed seeing Immortan Joe actor as the Toecutter saying he hates guns, and bits and pieces of the climax battle and going to this point.

It's a movie with quality I do not deny, but it is unfortunate to say that I did not have a pleasant time watching it.

MAD MAX 2: ROAD WARRIOR (1980)
Quality = 8.5/10
Joy = 1.5/10

A good sequel that is not as good as its predecessor, and I enjoyed a tad bit more. After the first movie having none of the wasteland stuff, it feels rushed in this one.

I'd like to know why a wasteland setting made people suddenly change their style of clothing completely, and some of them became walking underwear ads.
I wonder if the chief underwear ad in this movie inspired the outfit of Shao Kahn from Mortal Kombat. The cross of leather on the torso, the tight leather briefs, and the metal helmet feel like a sure yes to that to me.

The narrator is the mute kid with the boomerang.

MAD MAX 3: BEYOND THUNDERDOME (1985)
Quality = 7.5/10
Joy = 2/10

The brother some fans of the series would really love to forget or bash. It's not a bad movie, and some bits of it remind me of Hook. Has more defined personalities than the previous movie, but it's not much more entertaining than the other two.

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD (2015)
Quality = 9/10
Joy = 7/10

I found it to be less enjoyable this time than I did that one time I saw it, I really loved it when I saw it that one time in 2015. The score by Tom Holkenberg is really good here.
It makes you wonder how Max got his car back after it got smashed in Road Warrior.

Eyes Without a Face

I thought it was fantastic. It's pretty much part horror film, part Grimm fairy tale. It's got a fairly simple story, but there's a lot that this movie says that's still relevant today. I can totally see how influential this is to a lot of horror directors including Guillermo del Toro. Overall, it's definitely a must watch for horror fans.
