I remember seeing this when it came out, and thought Terence Stamp was awesome as the older drag queen in the bunch (remembering him as Zod like 15 years earlier, and a few other roles). When I rewatched it for the first time a few years ago, I was surprised recognizing both Hugo Weaving and Guy Pierce in early roles as well. And of course as drag queens lol.... Next is to see Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
X-men: Dark Phoenix
Considering the comments here on the Hype, and some reviews I've read, I went in with expectations as low as an Impala -64 with hydraulics in a 90s rap video. I was expecting a zombie-like Lawrence and really crappy performances from Turner and others. But I kinda.. enjoyed this? I have issues with it, but this flick wasn't the train wreck I expected, nor was the performances. No Oscar nods here for sure, but at least serviceable to the story. Whether or not this was a needed X-Men story, with the use of Dark Phoenix once again on the big screen is of course up for debates.
