It's amazing to be honest. They do special showings too for certain events. Like when Adam West passed away they showed a 35mm print of Batman: The Movie. After Caligari ended I went to a bar down the street for a few drinks and am currently back at the theater to watch a double feature for Stephen King's bday. Christine and Maximum Overdrive.

A few months back they had a Friday and Saturday night feature showing House on Haunted Hill and then House of Wax. Both nights Vincent Price's daughter was in attendance and talked a bit about him and did a Q and A. Only theater in the greater Portland area that can show 70mm prints. Took them a few years apparently to track down parts and out the projector together piece by piece.
I can see why you spend so much time there! Also, I love House on Haunted Hill. It's one of my Halloween regulars!

Parasite

It's quite possibly Bong Joon-ho's best film and that's including Snowpiercer. I don't want to give anything away but, It's a movie that manages to have everything you want in a thriller. It's absolutely unpredictable. It actually starts out like well made sitcom, but it slowly turns into a dark thriller that's got a social commentary on classism. It's almost like if Bong Joon-ho decided to combine Shoplifters and Burning into one incredible movie. Overall, it's one of the best movies of the year, it deserves all the hype.

I love it when shots from films or show can sum up your thoughts on it

Watch Speed 2: Cruise Control instead.
There are a few well done scenes, but for the most parts it's a terrible movie.

I watched Men in Black International a few days before I watched this movie, and that neuralizer obsessed movie is better than this movie, if slightly. At least it's more entertaining than this list of forgettable characters and nonsensical sequence of poor decision making in storytelling and incoherent logic within the film story.

And the jump back and forth between past and present is poorly handled crap that interrupts any good immersion there might have been felt in this movie that does not stick consistent with rules it established earlier.

Rambo: Last Blood

Rambo: The Force of Freedom......yes i watched the animated show...when i was a child !!

PRAISE: Sylvester Stallone struck a few emotional chords in a few scenes in the movie as Rambo is now enjoying a quiet life on a farm, working horses and looking after his "niece' Gabrielle (Yvette Monreal) and her grandmother.
But when Gabrielle doesnt return to Arizona after going to Mexico and crossing paths with sinister characters the old Rambo comes back full throttle.
The action was intense and brutal as Rambo sets up hyped up and deadly Home Alone traps that cause all types of bodily harm.
At times it's extremely over the top but i enjoyed it but be warned it's not for the faint of heart as henchmen are completely obliterated !!

PROBLEMS : Extremely predictable and cliched script .As soon as certain characters were introduced ,and without them speaking a word i knew what they were all about.
I have to admit i couldnt understand what Stallone was saying a couple of times.

But if you're a Rambo fan this is a must see !!

Ad Astra

Brad goes to outer space to look for his dad.

PRAISE:As Roy an elite astronaut Brad Pitt turns in an incredible performance.Aman wanting to hold on to his relationship but so focused and extremely dedicated to his career so of course the relationship suffers as we are shown in some great visuals.
I also enjoyed the work by Tommy Lee Jones, Donald Sutherland, and Ruth Negga in the film.
Director/writer James Gray & Ethan Gross wonderfully weave a futuristic story that is haunting, truthful, poignant and intense.
There is a quiet chaos that surrounds the film coupled with mystery as Roy searches for his father who vanished on a space mission 20 years earlier.

PROBLEMS: The pacing in the film goes from slow to slower.Especially in the films last 30 minutes.Long and lingering scenes that definitely could have been cut to a more digestable size.

Stunning to take in but it's a film you definitely have to be patient with

Roadhouse

I've seen bits and pieces here or there, but never really seen it in full, till now. This is a goddamn work of art, I haven't seen this much care in a "C'' level type story ever. Patrick Swayze really gave a damn and he brought it, tight jeans and all. An instant classic. Sam Elliot always looked like one of them old dogs, even in this one. lol

Kelly Lynch and her wonderful pair of knockers, just beautiful. I will rewatch this sometime soon.

Also, folks talk about the snyder cut and whatnot, but the original cut of this is almost 4 hrs long and has never been seen publicly.

Victim (Great performance from Dirk Bogarde as a closetted gay barrister who's being blackmailed, and also from Sylvia Syms as his wife)
