I'd say for me it was being afraid of the dark (which I still haven't gotten over), of a monster in my closer or under the bed, the rattling pipes and tool shed room of my basement, turning into a puppet or a toy because of magic, and thinking I was going to experience the whole strange woman who committed suicide chasing you out of the kitchen in the middle of the night thing ('The Sixth Sense').

What are your childhood fears?

The dark, wasps, and spiders were definitely my biggest fears as a kid. Glad I outgrew them. Still a bit off-put by wasps, though. I stepped on one and got stung when I was a kid.

Chucky - I pretty much had an irrational fear of the damn doll. I found him to be so damn ugly and disgusting. Considering my sister had dozens of dolls in the house, I just couldn't stand the sight of him.

Grades.
Bulling.

Heights, still a little to this day.

Being lost in the woods. Thanks Blair Witch Project.

Same stuff as today, honestly.

Spiders
Snakes
Rats/Mice
Dying
The Dark
Ghosts
Alien abductions

Saw "The Exorcist" at a young age on TV, and became absolutely terrified of demonic possession.

I almost drowned when I was 5 so that was alway something I was afraid of.

The Grand High Witch from The Witches. I'd watch the whole film on my own except for her introductory scene, for which I'd pause it and wait for company.

Also the darkness of the sea. Looking down while swimming and seeing nothing but black. Still spooky today.

Clowns, dolls, and heights. Still am to this day actually (kind of).

I was scared as hell of the Cybernaut robot on two episodes of the old Avengers tv show with Diana Rigg and Patrick Macnee... the way the arm made that whip-like sound when the Cybernaut killed someone or did some form of destruction just gave me shudders and chilled my s**t...

Mastadon stampedes, and the emerging dominance of the strange hairless apes.

Should I book you a session with the Reincarnation Support Group?

The dark and heights. I am still afraid of them but not has much has I used to be. Heights used to be like a fobea not just a fear.

what's a fobea? is that like that toilet that squirts whatever on your butt?

Well, I could be wrong, but I believe a fobea is an old, old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era.

nah for real, i'm scared of those toilets too

a toilet that sends something back.... Nope. I don't like it.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all it toilet's contents and the possibility of their return.
