What would happen if a Green Lantern started abusing his power?

I'm no expert on the Green Lantern characters, but I am well aware of what it's about. So, I wanted to know. What would happen if one of the Green Lanterns decided to abuse his power and cause carnage with his ring?

What would happen? Would they like, take away his power or something? I don't know.
