Almost bought Cimmerion today, but refrained. What's best to read first, suggestions?

I'd start at the first issue to use the Cimmerian subtitle since it's only up to what, issue 15 or so?

I've read a few issues and the story arcs all seem fairly self contained, so I don't think you have anything to worry about. I'd wait until a new story arc begins and jump in then, or like I said, find Conan the Cimmerian #1.

Conan vol 0: Born on the Battlefield sets up his origins and is a phenominal book! You definately shouldn't miss it.

Try reading the 1st issue from 1968 if you haven't already

Dark Horse has been releasing the old Marvel stories in trade (in colour) and is up to volume 16 or 17... features 8 issues per book, so you'd have the first 125+ issues of Conan...

I don't know how the new book is faring, but I'm a tad old school when it comes to this stuff...

Maybe you could read some Howard novels...
