Does anyone else not get the big deal over these?

My family is big into these. Sometimes my parents give me 2 cards (usually one funny and one emotional) for birthdays or graduation. I'm indifferent when it comes to the emotional ones so I don't get all choked up.

They always get pissed at me when I say they're a waste of money. I would rather buy someone a gift. While it's more expensive, there is more thought put into it and you don't just save it for a few weeks and then throw it away. I can understand it if you live far away from someone but when you see them everyday, I find it pointless.

my family used to, but not anymore

I've always disliked them, since they are putting words in your mouth. You should just write your own sentiments, instead of paying money for something you might not agree with......

Less is more in what's written inside the card. For the longest time I would only buy greeting cards that were blank inside.

What's written inside can sometimes help for those who don't know exactly what to say. It's kind of like plagiarism.

I only buy funny greeting cards. Screw giving you someone else's sentiments. I give out cheap chuckles on recycled paper.

I dont care about greeting cards. I'm indifferent.

What I hate is Christmas Cards. My mom usually likes us to all take a picture together, and sometimes even wear matching colors, and I'm just like "**** off! I dont want to wear a red ****ing sweater because the rest of you all want to match! I'm gonna wear a t-shirt and jeans, and you're gonna like it."

Thank you letters are way worse. :down
