What's the Last Book You Read/Finished?

The White Queen by Phillipa Gregory... I started it 2 days ago when I was sick, but found it a bit boring and stopped after 150 pages... I much prefer her earlier work (the Wideacre trilogy).

^^^ I could probably count the number of books I haven't finished on one hand.. I hate doing it, but sometimes I just have no desire whatsoever to continue.

The last book I stopped reading was The Road a couple months ago... it was the most boring thing I picked up in years. That, and the boy annoyed the hell out of me.

Mort - Terry Pratchett

Terry never leaves me wanting for something save that his books be longer. Consistently great writing and unbelievable character development, especially from Mort. As usual, seemingly random things introduced at seemingly random places click, click, click together in the end nigh perfectly. Terry does that extremely well.

I've jumped headfirst into Small Gods already.

Butcher: Anatomy Of A Mafia Psychopath - Philip Carlo

Ghost in the Machine. Sequel to Skeleton Creek. These books are absolutely INSANE. I suggest to anyone who likes horror/mystery/suspense, just anything that you want to be freaked out by.

The Legend of Drizzt XII: The Spine of the World

I thought it was a nice change of pace. Not a terrible book at all, but not one with the rereadability of the others in the series.

Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin.

Incredibly good. Easily at the top of the list when it comes to fantasy novels. Look forward to the next books of the 'A Song of Fire and Ice' saga.

the coldest winter ever - sister souljah

i didnt really know what to expect when this was recommended to me but I gave it a shot. i couldn't believe how vain and shallow and materialistic she was, but i couldn't believe more how enthralled i got in reading it. i finished it in less than 2 days.

chick is vulgar, trashy, freaky, but real. i think that's the part i appreciated. she kept her hand close to her heart even though i am not sure i'm fond of the ending. but it was definitely a different style of reading for me

Neverwhere by Neal Gaiman. It was pretty good, but I think it's one of those I'll enjoy more in hindsight than during the actual reading of it.

Next book... The Shack.

Small Gods - Terry Pratchett

Only Terry Pratchett can make a mockery of religion in general, yet not be offensive about it. This book quite possibly rivals Night Watch as my favorite Discworld book. It was an awesome read, and practically read itself it did. I recommend it.

Now fifty pages into Pyramids. It saddens me not to see more people here into Discworld.

Under the Dome ~ Stephen King. It was a long read, I swear this book is even bigger than The Stand, but it was wonderful! :D

A friend of mine tried to get me to read it. I read the first book, the Colour of Magic.... and it was horribly boring. It took me 3 attempts to actually finish it. I hear it gets a lot better later on when he discovers plot, but I've not made it that far. One of these days I'll try some later books, but not any time soon.

Terry Pratchett rules! I think the first 3 in the series were him finding his feet, but it does not diminish their genius. I love everything with the Night Watch (carrot rules!) and the Unseen University.

let's see since i finished Catch-22 i have read:

  1. Cat's Cradle
  2. I, Claudius
  3. The Color Purple
  4. The French Leuitenant's Woman
  5. A Death in the Family
  6. Dog Soldiers
  7. The Spy Who Came In From the Cold
  8. The Blind Assassin
  9. The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter

and i've just started Blood Meridian: Or the Evening Redness in the West
