Wicked The Life And Times Of The Wicked Witch Of The West
It was pretty good.

Why Didn't They Ask Evans?
It was decent but not Christie's best imo.

Towers of Midnight

Best. Book. Of. All. Time.

Or at least this year. :o

Theives World: Enemies of Fortune
- edited by Lynn Abbey
- a collection of short stories by different authors where all the stories take place in the town of Sanctuary. Each author has one or two characters that belong to them (only they can have something major happen to their own characters) but are allowed to use the characters created by other authors to move their story forward. I enjoy the interplay of these types of stories.

Michael Jackson: Moonwalk written by Michael himself.

I'm also in the process of finishing Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol as well.

in the past two months i've been up to my eyeballs in sci-fi. I've read:

John Carter of Mars Trilogy:
-Princess of Mars*
-Gods of Mars
-Warlord of Mars

and some glorious Philip K. Dick:
-The Man in the High Castle
-The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch*
-Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
-Ubik*

*Favorites
Very good choices.

Snuff by Chuck Palahniuk. Chuck's awesome, but this is his worst book. By far. I could do with reading Fight Club to wash away the taste.

Myst: The Book of Atrus and Myst: The Book of Ti'ana.

I came into this looking at these books as novels, not game adaptions, as I've only played bits and pieces of the first game. That said, I thought the first book of the series was a pretty pour book. I started it years ago and dropped it three times before finally deciding to just finish the stupid thing. It was boring for the most part and not until maybe the last 50 to 100 pages did it get even remotely interesting. I can't be certain, having never played the games really, but this is a book that is not very good standing alone.

I nearly didn't even give The Book of Ti'ana a shot, which is a prequel to The Book of Atrus, but man am I glad I did. I nearly didn't get far as it was boring as can be the first hundred or so pages and I nearly just dropped it. But in sticking with it I gradually became more interested and the last 100 pages or so were just fantastic. I couldn't put the book down and it's ending was all kinds of emotional! It was tough to get into but easier than The Book of Atrus was, and it was just enough during those slow parts to keep me moving through it. But the ending of this book was likely one of the best endings I've read in a long time. I was very impressed by this and I'm glad to hear that after years of delays and whatever there's finally going to be a movie based on this book. I hope it doesn't hit anymore snags as it could potentially be an epic masterpiece if done right.

The last book of the series The Book of D'Ni and I unfortunately do not have it. If any of you have read these books... I know this book takes place after The Book of Atrus chronologically but where does it fall in line with the games, as I know the games fall after Atrus as well? Do I have to know the story of the games to get this last book or is it stand alone like Ti'ana was?

If I don't find D'Ni quickly I may just start reading either Dear John by Nicholas Sparks or Pillars of the Earth by Kenneth Follett.

Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone - JK Rowling

Dream a Little Dream - Piers Anthony & Judy Brady

- Usually I like books by Piers Anthony. This one was a disappointment. The plot is there, it could have been a good book. Unfortunately instead of having one point of view this book jumps the point of view between each of the characters (even minor ones in some cases). Frankly, it was confusing. You'd read one sentence and the next would be someone else's point of view thoughts. I haven't finished it yet, but if I don't finish it by tomorrow I'm returning it to the library regardless, and I hope the next book I get is better.

Y: The Last Man Complete Series - Brian K. Vaughan

Great read!!! Trying to get my wife to read the first issue. She got about halfway through and said she's liking it but was just tired. That was 4 days ago and I can't get her to even try to finish it, so I'm thinking she was pulling my leg.

Starting this series over from the beginning, honestly the only series I've ever read that beats the Dune series AND the LOTR.

Eye of the World by Robert Jordan

I really want to read those. I got about 1/2 way through Eye of the World but was too busy to really read at the time and stopped. Then I was holding off for the last book to come out (which is now 2 books I believe). So I figure once the official last one is finally out I might give it a try. I hate waiting for later books of a series to come out. I have to read them straight through.

A Conspiracy of Paper by David Liss

At times, it could have spared some details about the historical period and its finance system for the sake of pace, but I liked it a lot overall. I think Liss' upcoming Black Panther: Man Without Fear series will be good, even though it doesn't make much sense that BP is taking over for Daredevil.
