Im gonna guess Christmas maybe? or can we get lucky and get a new one sometime in the next couple of months? what do you guys think?

WB has Body of Lies in October, if word spread that a new trailer was attached its got to boost the box office.

new trailer in december will only make christman sweeter!

Sorry, but very, very few people go see a movie because of an attached trailer. I personally cant imagine going out of my way to see Body of Lies in theaters just for a Watchmen trailer. It wouldn't boost box office sales by any recognizable amount.

I would think they would try to get one out around Christmas. The teaser is doing a great job so far, they can get away with holding off until December.

Around Christmas makes the most sense, but I'm not sure what's a good fit for attaching it to. Bond? The Spirit? Something from Warner Bros.?

A Superbowl ad is probably a strong possibility. I'd expect Watchmen and/or Terminator to be strongly considered for Superbowl spots.

I think both Bond and The Spirit would be great. It was running along with Bond during TDK. With Bond you get a lot of people who would definitely get interested in the movie, and with Spirit there would be a lot of geekgasims in that audience.

I would definitely have a full trailer attached to James Bond. It wouldn't hurt to add it to The Spirit as well.

They could do an red band trailer with The Spirit.

QoS will be the TDK of the fall. Even with Dreamworks and Disney animated films I believe it will be the box office champion of Nov/Dec.

Do they put redband trailers in the theaters? I thought redband trailers were only online.

They recently started doing that again, playing R rated trailers before R rated films. But most people would likely see it online.

i think everyone has pretty much covered the most likely possibilities. bond, the spirit. november, december. that's what we're lookin at.

and hell yeah it'll have a superbowl spot. it has to. that's a huge audience. TDK didn't need one. it already had an audience. this doesnt. it needs that spot.

I wonder if the lawsuit will hold things up...hope not.

i would be surprised if they don't have a new one before the end of the year.

Before Harry Potter moved to summer '09 , i would've said that it was the prime candidate for the next trailer.
But now that it has been moved , my guess would be either QoS ( bigger audience)in november or THe Curious Case Of Benjamin button ( it's a WB movie) in december.
Also a good candidate would be Ninja Assasin which will be released in january.

Of coursr the question is how many trailers we will see. One more or two more.
If there's one morethe theatrical trailer could be attached to any of the 3 movies IMO however if they're going for 2 movies , i think the theatrical trailer will be attached to Ninja Assasin

Hmmm... I wonder if the lawsuit will affect any upcoming trailers?

Maybe that's why they haven't put the Comic-Con-footage online yet, because of the trial?

Seriously doubt it.
In most cases the C-C trailers are never put online. To my knowlegde at least , i've never seen C-C trailers put online by the studios.
Leaked footage yes , such as the SPider-man 3 footage , 300 , the spirit , watchmen , wolverine etc.

Promotion and release will not be affected by the trailer.

There probally gona take "TDK" route with releasing the tralier so I expect in December?

Here's my idea for the new trailer:
It starts out very somber and dark like the first trailer, all narrated by Roschach's opening narration. Until eventually, we cut to the arial shot of the button, as we get a look at 1985 New York, and the Music changes to Stop hey whats that sound by Buffalo Springfield, and from there it begins to lay out the beginning of the book. We see the Dan-Rorschach scene, and for a short while, their dialogue narrates images of modern superheroes, maybe even a few Vietnam shots. The music stops, and maybe stwitches to something bigger like maybe E.S. Posthumous's Tikal, get a few scenes/images introducing us to the danger of the whole concept, maybe a bit with Dr. Manhattan, and then they show us the characters going back into action, and then we get something like a fast-paced version of the trailer, with more tense action bits.

i can definitely see it happening with james bond, and a red-band with the spirit, that would definitley be a smart move. If harry potter was in november still i doubt they would throw such a graphic movie in with a kids movie.

the spirit is PG-13.
