When did you get the Internet?

those bastards were still charging me after I canceled.

I think I'm the only one who has never had problems with them. Perhaps cause when I stopped using their service over a year ago I continued using AIM.

I have an e-mail from iTunes dated July 14th 1970.
I'm never deleting it.

LOL WTF? :woot:

I'm still haunted by the sounds of buzzing, whirring, and swooshing.:(

LOL :D

It was all about the AOL chatrooms back then. Oooohhh yeeaaahhh.

Yes...you ARE old. The first time I heard of the Internet was in `95 while watching Freakazoid. :o :o :o :o :o

All the way back in 97, I still want to kill the creator of AOL.

St Patrick's Day 1997. Ahh memories, don't miss the slow loading of pages and using Napster to download music that took like 2 days.

And the good old connecting music ahhh, memories.

In college in 1989 using the university's VAX/VMS systems. Prior to that I'd been using local BBS systems. In 1990 the school set up a modem bank for students to dial into and get actual internet access. Everything back then was on Usenet and the web was text only, which we used a browser called Lynx to browse.

jag

I first got AOL on a ****ty Packard Bell from 1993 and I first got dial up in 1998.

i remember i was miles away from home and couldnt get in touch with anybody for a ride because low and behold a certain sibling was on the internet , this is before my family had cellphones . so i walked and walked until i sprained my ankle jumping over a fence trying to take a shortcut. then i continued to walk and walk (just barely, with frequent breaks). no money , no cab . just pain and misery .

As Spock would say, "fascinating".

I didn't use the internet until 96. My college got internet access for the dorm rooms.

But my dad had access to the net before that.
