I can't recall how much cut material the two Iron Man movies had, but Incredible Hulk had quite a bit and now we're hearing from Ken Branagh that Thor has around 20 minutes itself.

So what's the hold up? It's not like they aren't going to sell like hotcakes. Most studios would already have gouged it's fans for two or three home video releases by now.

Thoughts?

I'd love to see an extended cut of The Incredible Hulk. I loved the movie but after years of re-watching it, it seems rushed and it lacked the drama and characterization necessary to make one invest in those characters, that can be seen in the cut footage.

hopefully they'll start with Thor, and after that Cap and Avengers.. Daredevil 1.5 was really good..

Ok, that's kinda bad for those who have already bought the originals, but i only have them on dvd yet, so i hope they release them on blu ray and quickly

Well no ones forced to buy them and if they've purchased the theatrical versions, then they got what they were looking for initially.

But as Hypestyle said above the Dardevil 1.5 blew the theatrical version out. A much better movie. I think many of the Marvel Studio movies have the potential to be better films with different cuts.

Not exactly, some like me just want to find the best one with more extras and more running time, that's why many buy the 2 disc version when it comes out, because we don't know that 2 years later they will realease another best edition to F@$k us.

I'd love this.

Here's hoping if Iron Man 2 had a fair bit of deleted material it won't just look like a film to set the Avengers up and not soley an 'Iron Man' film...

:cmad:

True, we all want the best, but my point is that if you buy an original copy of a movie, it's because most likely you purchased it because you at least enjoyed that version of the movie. Now, if the studios put out another version, in essence you already have the version you wanted. If the newer cut is better than the original version, you are not obligated to buy it and you still have the version you initially liked....right.

I dunno. Spider-man 2's extended cut was alright but it wasn't like a great extended cut I thought the theatrical cut was a lot better.

Do we really need extended cuts of Iron Man and Iron Man 2? Doesn't look like there was much extra stuff there. Maybe Hulk, but I mean they've already recast Norton. So its pointless.

Yeah, if TIH did a bit better at the box office and Norton was still on board, an extended cut would be more than possible. But as it is it's not likely.

I always wanted to see an extended cut of Spider-Man 3 though, just to see if it would have made the movie any better. Guess we'll never know.

As I recall, the stuff cut from the IM films was because it was either redundant(Stane's pep talk to his engineers) or clashed with the rest of the stories(BW partying with Tony in IM2). So probably not much to add there that's useful. TIH & Thor however are another ball'o wax. Those I believe were cut more for pacing issues(runtime).

I think with TIH it might have had to do with them wanting to distance itself from Ang Lee's Hulk by being more action oriented.

Pft, not for a longggg time maybe after avengers, for some "super collectors extended editions" or something.

Even then I want all the deleted footage - IM1 was on FX and there was unreleased footage on there, IM2 was supposed to have a 30 minute extended cut last november, TIH still has 30 minutes of cut footage, and apparently thor is 20 minutes too short.

Did they really say a 30 minute extended cut? What did they actually cut out to make it that much longer?
