When Spider Man 3 JUST released : What is your story??

I remember before the film came out, they released preview footage of the glider fight with Peter and Harry, and i got really excited then.

Little did I know, that it would be the ONLY part of the movie that i'd enjoy.

Watching the film was like realising a nightmare is actually happening. I was yelling 'OMG is the ACTUALLY happening?' to my friend... follwed by the word 'SERIOUSLY?' over and over... and every time I saw EMO Peter my blood boiled.

The car full of people I was with basically spent the whole journey back sitting sheepishly in silence while I went on and on about how the symbiote was my second favourite villain, and I couldn't believe they had made it into such a JOKE! They didn't enjoy the movie either... but it didn't mean that much to them.

I have tried to watch the movie a second time... but it was torture... I just cant do it.

I'm still upset to this day that no official movie magazine was released and it looks like the score will never see the light of day either. :cmad:

As of right now, at least. FSM or Intrada or La La Land might get it....one day :csad:

f this noise, lol, who gives a crap what i did on the day sm3 was released, i enjoyed reading everyone else's stories though.

Wait...so do you like it? I don't get it...lol

Dude, I am quite astonished you have the guts and the gall to even address me after the bs you gave me during that Stan Lee debate, calling me a troll and baiting me. You and your little baiting buddies better stay the hell out of my way. Don't ever address me again.

I didn't address you, I don't even know what that thread is
You like the movie?

^^ ALSO, i just love how fans reacted to that movie right after they just saw it. It is so funny when they were like

"OHH That movie sucks so bad, i think i just have a eye cancer!"

Well, I do.

ok, i will apologise to SSnape first though, sorry man, you caught me at a bad moment there, i know you probably don't live near me, so i will ask my mum to punch me and rip up a few of my comics later on today as penance.

and the quick version of my day watching Spider-man 3.....I got high smoking some mj beforehand, so was not sober watching the film...I loved it, i especially got into the bit where he rescues Gwen Stacey from that building disaster and felt i was right up there with him doing all that bouncing around, phenomenal....i also shared a laugh with some teenagers that were sitting near me , although they did notice me thankfully, they would have probably laughed at the stoned oldster if they did and took my hot dog off of me...so we laughed at that severely intense portrait of Norman Osborne, and the butler scene...i was annoyed at first they were laughing during the butler scene, but then i realized my teenage cynicism had not seen a garage in a while, and soon tuned into the fact the scene was straight out of Willy wonka's wonky wtf machine, i still felt embarressed for the Spider-man movie, and Spidey in general though.
Also, as soon as Harry and MJ started doing the twist i thought it was probably the least dramatic scene in the movie, so nipped off to the bathroom to pee and twist my brain up with my own mj.
After the movie, I had an appointement with an unemployment bureau in the town centre, was on a Spider-high, and had a couple of hours to kill, so i wandered about town watching some big parade that was going on while slugging back a half bottle of vodka. I ended up being a bit of a comedian at the unemployment interview, laughing at their job offers, as really i just wanted to be Spider-man, but i don't think they advertise for that these days, back in the 60s, sure, but these days people look at you a bit weird if you say you want to do that kind of thing, i am not sure why, maybe for the same reason they do not put men on the moon anymore, but did back then, people are a bit less ambitious these days as there are less hippies in the world or something.
Anyway, even today when i am sober as a judge, i still love the movie, yes, it has wonky moments, and it a bit too jam packed, but to me it still feels like a typical run of 3 or 4 Spider-man comics put onscreen.
i am glad they did not make a fourth one though, i think Raimi and co had run of steam by then, as for the new reboot, we will just have to wait and see won't we?
thank you for asking what my day watching spider-man 3 was like, i did enjoy your story, and wish i had been there to witness your outburst, lol, cheers.

Nooooooooo
That's damaging :(

btw, i wasn't talking to you last night in regards to that outburst i had, i apologised to old snape back there about that.

and yeah, that was the one thing that my mum threatened me with that would freak me out, ripping up my comics, she did not believe in hitting kids, so that was the ultimate defcon 1 for me. I only recall her actually doing it once, and my sister(who did not believe in such punishment, or hitting kids, she believed in the power of laxatives mixed with sweets)and i organised it so that my mum only go ahold of some doublers i had, or incomplete stories.

I have to admit, and i have never admitted this before, but i once cracked up a little bit over something that was going on in my life, and I opened my cupboard closest to me, took the pile of comics out of it, and started ripping them all up, man, there was a Giant sized Superman from '68 in that pile, i feel real bad about that one as it was an antique, a couple of my favourite Batmans and Spider-mans too.
Anyway, sorry about that to comics fans everywhere.

^^You did point at not talking to me, it's good you guys got over that thing

I don't like this "Damaging property to teach a lesson", it burns me up

lol, no man, when i originally posted right after you, i told my sm3 story, but then i edited it out after i had that go at snape, as i thought he was taking the piss out of my story somehow. I didn't point at you at all either.

No, it's not the best way to deal with your kids i imagine, i wouldn't do that if i had any, my mum was probably just angry at the time, and i was probably being a wee nuisance.

Ah I remember that day.

I along with my friend his little brother and his older brother all went to go see it as the SF Metreon in IMAX.

Visually the movie still holds up wonderfully and the construction disaster scene was effing amazing. As for the rest of the movie I was enjoying it up until the point Peter started doing his little dance routine.

I was younger at the time and I absolutely loved SM1/SM2 and by the time the credits rolled I felt like this one didn't match up to it. It didn't help that my friend along with his brothers also felt the same way. So we just spent our time dissecting the movie and all its flaws until we got home.

It would take over a year for me to see the movie again on DVD. Once I did my movie marathon with all three of the movies I started to think that I was to harsh with the movie in retrospect.

The more times I see it now the more I appreciate it for the little things. Sure it isn't SM1/SM2 but it still a pretty entertaining movie. Harry's death scene was emotional and for anyone who's interested there are very small subtleties of misunderstanding between MJ and Peter which causes their falling out.

For example at the French restaurant right when Peter is signaling Bruce Campbells character MJ turns around and thinks he is trying to say something to Gwen Stacy which makes him an even bigger suspect to MJ that he might be cheating on her.

When I saw that from her perspective I was like, holy crud Peter you are so damn naive dude. People might not like this Peter Parker but he actually was consistent throughout all the movies.

Despite MJ's career going down the toilet she shouldn't of blamed Peter. I felt as if she was projecting although that was a d-bag move on Peter's part for sharing the iconic upside down kiss.

The movie is about misunderstanding. Peter/MJ, Peter/Harry, Sandman/Peter.

In retrospect I think I was to harsh on the movie and I think as time goes on it'll get a better rep.

Agreed. I think most that disliked it at first, and saw it on DVD or so again liked it more the second go round. Like you.

I remember calling it trash, I still had lots of fun with the games based on it (not the NDS one) but still hated the movie

It's funny how my opinion of it changed from 5.5/10 to 10/10 movie

Yeah the trilogy is quite wonderful and one of the best tellings of the SM/Peter Parker story.

It was very indicative of the changes the actual character has gone throughout the comics even. People sometimes forget that Spider-Man has had his not so great moments in the comics and even then there is still something to enjoy.

The Raimi series did a nice job of showing us Peter become a teenager to a man. It was all stitched nicely despite the inner problems of production with the third film.

Raimi still managed to make a great adaptation of Spidey.

I remember when I was in 7/ 10 years old and saw SM1/2 in the theater...LOVE IT (especially final swings)! I watched that movie over and over again. I could not get enough of him. So I start watch spidey cartoons on youtube ( like 90's etc). Then I really want to explore more about his life and history. So I start to read comics.

Anyways my point that movies that made me to become a spider man fan. happy end.

Sure I do agree with you guys, Sam did a good job.

Man, i can't imagine how much my mind would have been blown seeing these movies when i was a kid, i got into spider-man through the old 60s cartoon, they showed them on a cartoon compilation show every Sunday afternoon when i was about 2 and 3 yrs old. I got obsessed with SM at that time. At Christmas time the presenter of the tv show did a Christmas show at this big department store in our city(not for tv though), and i went along to one with my family. they had an actor dressed up as Spider-man there, and a huge line of kids all waiting to meet him, but to me at that age, that was the real Spider-man, so i was dumbstruck when i met him, i stood there holding my little mego Spider-man doll totally speechless while the Spider-man actor tried to engage me in conversation, but he could see i was just totally in awe and could'nt communicate. So what he did was let me stand beside him while he met the other kids, and then at the end when he had signed all the autographs he sat down beside me and talked away to me, asking about my action figure and stuff. That was such a cool thing for the guy to do, a really great memory from my childhood.
