Where are all the Marvel games??

Asides from the fighting game, I don't see your desires happening. THQ is gone and I doubt Nordic Games can get the proper licenses to resell the game from Marvel. And Activision lost the X-Men rights. Basically, I just don't see sequels to old Marvel games ever happening again.
Shouldn't Deep Silver try to take the rights for this game?
They publish Saints Row, Volition Inc. made that Punisher game and used its mechanics for SR games.
Only one they didn't recycle is the interrogation mechanic.

they have to show interest & head to marvel (or Disney possibly)for it.

The people that make saint's Row title of games seem busy with their own personal created project/franchise with their budgets.

But yes they'd be perfect to make a Punisher title. Best of all, it could rival GTA only in a Toy box way & it'll be different enough to set it's self a part of the former Punisher games ( so the publishers of the prior Activision games won't have a excuse to sue for using the same play style mechanics) which is part of the issue, besides using the same name(which will cause trouble) like ultimate alliance which marvel can or Disney can never use again ever for games same with legends & still use what was there in a different way game play wise.

They just can't be executed in the same way game play wise like how he beat up a thug for info they will have to come up with a different play style just for that for example. this is what happen with license's to publishers some stuff you can't ever use again so if make another game, you have to make sure it's nothing like the other one or ones befor it if it's by a new studio when it come to games.

How ever seeing that Marvel been hiring relatively new/ up & coming dev studio's for control reasons / say so....

Honestly, there isnt big demand for that and probably not worth the hassle trying to get the license. Its rare that old Marvel games get resold on a digital front. Konami's Xmen arcade game and Capcom's Marvel fighters are the only two examples I can think of and thats bc the demand for them was huge and they were requested for years. Punisher? Not so much

Yeah, the Punisher hasn't really been a hot property since the '90s.

One of my favorite fighting games with Marvel characters is Marvel's rise of the imperfects.

never got to play that one
I thought the heroes looked cool, but the imperfects were lame

I thought Rise Of The Imperfects was fun, gameplay was cool. I was looking forward to the next fighting game they were making, but it got canned. :(

I don't see why people dislike Rise of the Imperfects so much. It wasn't an A grade game by any stretch, but I had loads of fun playing it. As a strictly Marvel fighter game, I'd even say that it's the best there is so far. Where else can I see Spidey, the thing or Iron man fight one on one in a 3D destructible environment? There aren't really many options when it comes to Marvel games in this genre.

So I was thinking back to the First-Person game that THQ or whoever was working on a couple years back, and it's really sad the game got cancelled. When I first saw the footage of it, it looked kinda hokey and I was unsure how well Avengers would adapt to an FPS style. But since I became addicted to Destiny, I see now how potentially awesome it could be.

I mean, just imagine something like this:
0.jpg

but with a healthy dose of this:
avengersaou374.jpg

And their different powers could make for some very interesting power sets
the video the released basically just showed Hulk punching and Cap throwing the shield, but it could be so much more:

-Cap: Shield Throw(rebounds), Shield Melee, Deflect, Standard Melee, Double Jump, High Speed and Agility attributes
-Thor: Lightning Blast, Hammer Throw(guided), Hammer Melee, Ground Slam, Hover/Extended duration jump
-Hulk: Intimidate, Atomic Clap, Ground Slam, Long Jump, Heavy Melee, extremely high durability attribute
-Iron Man: Flying (with poor agility), Missiles, Repulsors, One-time Laser, Enhanced Radar

et cetera

I just think it would be amazing, so Marvel, stop waiting for some company to magically come to you with the best idea ever, and start pursuing companies to make the games these properties and their fans deserve. As long as the games are good, there is no chance they won't sell well.
So dammit, make mine, Marvel

Really you used that? Destiny of all things . lol

Hey, it's a polarizing game, that's for sure
but if it's suits you better, substitute Halo for Destiny
Point is, even if you hate them, you have to admit how well those games play

regardless of that game's various, well-covered flaws, a AAA Marvel title up that alley could be amazing

Cuz think about it, Destiny + Marvel-level-storytelling would undo most of the main criticism of that game.. that it lacks a story

also, I don't appreciate ignoring my post just to make fun of me for enjoying a game you dislike
that's a *****e move

hmmm you would have been better of convincing me with the up star citizen which a better versio of a mass effect MMO or online RPG title. I will say about game play yes yes bungee ok there to a degree but they still could have done more . but story with "with destiny" hmmmm....

but I'm not sure how much of that was Activision or them with destiny so......

I'm hoping a game or two gets announced at E3.

Marvel should totally team up with EA or Ubisoft and make a Marvel Video Game Universe. You'd be able to accomplish a lot more than a movie universe that's for sure.

they did team up with Ubi soft it was a failer with fighters. And after what happened with Activision ( who has shown a similar pholophy at times to EA at may occasion) they should make sure they better control which why they had the help of Disney pull all their stuff out they do't trust bi publisher any more cause once a ceo leaves the other one that replaces them as Ceo of that same publisher seems to screw them over or their own workers with in the games industry of late it's become a common occurrence. marvel wants control & say not just to lend them character for a game out anymore

It was yet another cheap, half-assed licensed game. Ubisoft is still good, but they need to do better with the license.

It sure would be awesome if any marvel console game would be announced at E3,I'm so desperate for one that I would even take Capcom making a pure marvel fighting game..which would most likely be almost exactly like Capcom vs Marvel 3

maybe but it was TQ Jefferson marvel's games head division head idea for the motion controls & they knew what they got into & also knew it was simlar to how sega was doing the games as well which they didn't always see the final product them selves. then when those games came out they're in shock.

It's more then license which they handed out their characters too easily with. just like their movies (which they should have learned from seeing the comic industry was similar to with both artists & writers to comic publishers the many sueing issue that came from it over the years that they had to quell). They were burnt bad with all that.

Which is why they pulled out. It all happened cause they set them selves in a bad place from the start didn't see final product especially after being burnt with the movies . they didn't understand they they had to be more involved & they just had the rest of it handled completely up to the games publishers after that. They got screwed for it by those publishers newer boss from there as soon those people got involved .

which is why they're in control freak mode .

this time around they better always see the final product of those games this is why when dev studio's come to them now& days they can't do stuff with out their(marvel 's ) Ok of late this is the issue marvels been pushing of late to the games community .

Also Ubi soft's been slipping up of late making poor chose's. it doesn't their not good but they aren't what they used to be ether.

Nah, they shouldn't bind any of their franchises with either one of those 2 publishers.
They can find better publishers.

I really dont see a game being announced at E3. Maybe Comic Con, but it doesnt seem as if Disney has that as a priority

Yeah, as it's being pointed out to me, Marvel apparently does have a game studio of some kind, but they are still an umbrella of Disney, and I don't think it could be any clearer at this point that Disney really just doesn't have any interest in entering the AAA gaming market. I'm sure that if they did, they would've have attempted to do so by now. Despite rights issue for some characters, they still have the bulk of Marvel characters that they could've used for a variety of games by now.

They did try to enter AAA gaming a few years ago and it didn't work out so well for them.
