Where are all the Marvel games??

what was it happy said? oh yea.

I agree with you to a certain extent. Mostly because when you look at the video game strategy of the Walt Disney Company, there is just no place for a Marvel-based publisher. Blockbuster video games were a disaster for the Walt Disney Company with them meeting failure after failure after failure while their mobile and casual titles like Where's My Water?, Club Penguin, and Disney Infinity being the successful titles. If the Walt Disney Company had any desire to go back to blockbuster video games, they wouldn't have shut down LucasArts. They wouldn't be licensing out their properties for non-mobile/casual games.

But there are other factors to take into account that could justify an independent Marvel video game publishing unit. For example, Marvel could just set up a model that is similar to the Marvel Studios model where Marvel Entertainment sets up a development/publishing studio while Disney Interactive distributes the games.

IMO, I think the Walt Disney Company is just waiting to have all the rights to their Marvel properties settled as a opposed to the mish-mash that Marvel created, and then they'll license them out to another publisher as a whole the way they did with the Star Wars license. My guess is that EA will eventually take up the publishing rights to ALL Marvel games.

Just so you all know guys, it is Disney Studios that releases and distributes all the Marvel films guys. Disney Studios handles the marketing, distribution, etc. It's not Marvel releasing the film. Marvel just isn't a company that has a specific needs for its own game publishing division right now because they aren't really making many big video games.
The Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group distributes and markets the films of Marvel Studios, but Marvel Studios is completely independent of that group. Unlike Lucasfilm, Pixar, Walt Disney Pictures, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Disneynature, Marvel Studios is not a subsidiary of the Walt Disney Company's film studio division. Marvel Studios is a subsidiary of Marvel Entertainment. As a result, the relationship between Marvel Studios and the Walt Disney Motion Picture group is more similar to the relationship the Walt Disney Company has with DreamWorks SKG. Marvel has complete control over budgeting, green-lighting, creative control, etc. while the the film division of the Walt Disney Company simply handles marketing and distribution.

For example, WB Interactive publishes all the DC Entertainment games. That's just how it is.
I find that to be a bit of a false equivalency because DC Entertainment lacks the independence that Marvel Entertainment enjoys. Unlike Marvel Entertainment, DC Entertainment has little real say on the television shows, films, video games, and whatnot that are produced within Warner Bros. Overall, Warner Bros. treats DC Entertainment the same way they treat the Looney Tunes, Hanna-Barbera, Lord of the Rings, the Big Bang Theory, and Harry Potter.

While DC Entertainment is seen as a lowly subsidiary of Warner Bros. Entertainment (itself a subsidiary of the Time Warner machine), Marvel Entertainment is a completely independent division within the Walt Disney Company. It is not treated the same way the Walt Disney Company treats Mickey Mouse & Friends, Star Wars, Cars, and Pirates of the Caribbean, it's treated the way actual subsidiaries such as ABC, ESPN, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, etc. are. While there major examples of corporate synergy like Marvel Publishing taking over the Star Wars license, Disney XD airing Marvel Animation productions, ABC Studios making live action television productions of Marvel properties, and Disney Consumer Products handling the licensing, they're done more to create a well-oiled machine within the Walt Disney Company as opposed to just treating them as mere properties. And they're done with the blessing and encouragement of Ike Perlmutter, who remains the CEO of Marvel Entertainment.

Marvel's video games showing is absolutely pathetic. It's the only area where I think DC completely stomps Marvel at.

I hope the rumors of DC working on a Superman game is true, if DC has three big AAA console franchises (Batman: Arkham/Injustice/Superman) then maybe Marvel will finally get their s*** together. Though, I also hope DC works on Flash & Green Lantern games; those two would make for some cool games in the right hands.

I'm not a big Superman fan but a Superman game could be very cool. They could go all in on the action!

I totally agree with you by the way. Competition is always good.

I'm a fan of Superman, and agree with Vader about the potential for Flash and GL games.

Right now though, I still want a definitive Moon Knight game. Dude has potential to star in a great game, and I'm a fan of the character.

A Moon Knight game would be cool. Daredevil would be nice as well

:highfive: amigo.
Wonder if a DareDevil's game will have fast action animation or something easier to follow with ones eyes.

I see a Daredevil game playing nearly exactly like an Arkham game. Its a style that works and suited to his character. The acrobatic and more fastpaced movement of Nightwing or Robin feel like they could be Daredevil with a new skin

It would pretty much be a copy..But I wouldn't mind much in this case

no it would be similar minus the re inactment of the crime scene (via arkham origins) most stuff that was shown in arkham games were shown tech & power wise wise in other mediums of other books besides batman prior to it.

From the books of marvel & dare devil sense already acted like he was a walking crime lab pretty much like the show called the sentinel . so there will be stuff that will be different use wise . be side befor batman games came out there were the X -treme X-Men ray bands in the books other device's simlar. so there better people trying to call rip off .

his sense of smell, the fact he can tell people when lie to him cause of their hear beats , the fact he ca n see through disguise with his radar sense he just doesn't need special shades i the mask of his to do so cause it's part of his power that were activated with the toxic accident of saving the old man no the street as a kid BTW it'll be a good way to lead to a marvel nights team or defenders cause of the shows

Cause daredevil created the marvel knights which mean's we'll likely see moon knight kinda like what marvel heroes is setting up only more detailed story to them selves if it were ever made.

How bout a first person Daredevil game
No image at all on screen, just audio

lol

He has radar sense/sonar vision
yes it does . if you read the books it's almost similar to the detective mode with arkham to a degree just not as techy you'll see waves when enter it& see a dark out line with people running around see through walls etc. but your walking crime lab you'll see smells like gas. be a walking lie detector seeing the hear beats of people & more see through their masks.

A chat with Solid Snake: David Hayter on Marvel Heroes, voice acting, and if video game movies will ever be good

David Hayter is one of video gaming’s treasures. Best known as the voice behind Metal Gear Solid’s Snake, he’s also familiar to the ears of anyone who’s played Eternal Darkness, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and République. Lately he’s been joining Marvel’s cast of ever-growing actors to play a superhero, voicing The Winter Soldier in MMO Marvel Heroes.
“When I saw this audition come through from Marvel, I couldn't resist,” said Hayter.

I don't read Thor, but I really like playing as the character in video games (MUA1, Lego Marvel, M.U.G.E.N.).
I'd love to have a good fun Thor game.

Maybe people at Marvel should hire competent developers instead of developers making garbage like (Ultimate) Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

I the case of comparing it to the older series, it was. Especially when someone thought it was a good idea to put in the X-Factor.

Any version of MvC3 is a broken version of Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

Sweet. Really hope it comes to consoles. And I hope it'll be cross-play as well, so I can play with my brother-in-law.

they 'll do what was done with planet side 2 don't expect much in the way of cross play. tribable sage & I are still gathering info will put out more news in tomorrow well it 'll be onthe MH side anyway Gaz is also making a none marvel game as I put up once as well.

A Daredevil game would be so awesome! Throw in guest appearances of Punisher, Spider-Man etc.
