Where are all the Marvel games??

I have one problem with this
I don't like first person view
There's a way to fix that. Have you played the Riddick games like escape from butcher bay or Attack on Dark Affina? They would switch from the third person to first, point of view. But if you have it as mainly a third person action type game it can work.

The style of Elder Scrolls games?

I wasn't thinking that, but if that what it reminds you of then fine. But other games have done something like that and some better. depending on the game

You know what would be great? A silver surfer game. Flying around the universe, fighting bad guys and listening to a pink floyd esque soundtrack? Bliss

Fantastic interview and news,Love Marvel's new attitude&approach to new games

But surely there's someone out there who would want to make a good avengers game? Why the wait?

Creating a true triple A Avengers Title, is probably a huge undertaking. There are probably developers that want to make a game, but maybe they just didn't have the right vision.

A true triple A Avengers game should make you feel like you are the characters. Just like the Arkham games make you truly feel like you are Batman. But the Arkham games only have to focus on one character. With the Avengers, you have at the very least 6 different characters, should we only focus on the first Movie's line-up.

If I play as Hulk, I want to feel like the Hulk. If I play as Iron Man, I want to feel like Iron Man. If I play as Captain America, well, you get the picture. That means taking Hulk: Ultimate destruction, the inFamous games, the Arkham franchise, maybe a dash of Prototype, Crackdown, etc, and turning it into one, single game.

So you have all these characters, who are all very unique, and have to try to create a game that's balanced. And try to balance a game with character classes, that are entirely unbalanced to begin with. You have regular and enhanced humans with Cap, Black Widow and Hawkeye, and then you have the power houses Thor, Hulk and Iron Man, who all can decimate armies by themselves.

Want to and able to are two very different things. There aren't a huge number of AAA studios, and of them, I'm not sure any of them feel comfortable making fun gameplay and controls for a grounded brawler and a flying bipedal tank at the same time.

I'm sure you can at least make a triple a iron man title without having it end up as dreadful

How long before they find the right one though?

As long as it takes. If they can find someone that manages to make a game where the Hulk can wreck an entire city, but still make characters like Black Widow and Captain America viable player options, I'm willing to wait.

I would be happy with another marvel ultimate alliance type game but just for the avengers characters to be honest but maybe that's just me.

If they made an avengers legends type game they can focus on the characters more, the gameplay and mythology more plus it would be amazing on current gen!

I wouldn't mind another Alliance/Legends game, but I would want it to be open world like Lego Marvel and Disney Infinity. Running around with superheroes in a giant sandbox and a co-op mode, would be immensely fun.

I think Marvel have the right attitude.

I think this is the right move. Instead of just pumping out an endless stream of lame, half-baked console games, hold out until something greater can be made.

I think lessons were clearly learned by the disastrous Thor movie game and the disappointing Iron Man games.

Considering how it feels as if almost everyone has been an Avenger or very closely affiliated with them in recent years, the MuA games weren't too far off from being Avengers games.

Agreed. I really wouldn't be excited about another top down screen-sharing game, but if there's open world, I'm down for that. I might even try out Disney Infinity for that, that's how awesome I think that kind of gameplay is.

This test game I saw recently with the FPS wasn't really bowling me over either. I'm like, dude... multiplayer Third person shooter. Gears of War meets X-Men Legends. Make me a happy man.

Disney Infinity actually looks really promising. You can soar in the skies with Thor and Iron Man, climb buildings with Hulk, and the gameplay/combat looks actually fun.

I kind of feel like infinity is a step down from lego marvel superheroes though

Is that an expansion to Disney Infinity or a new game?

This is a good read about how Marvel may be trying to have a Marvel Gaming Universe written by the comic book writers and it would all be cohesive like the movies. Some question though as to whether or not they will do it in house or not. But judging from that other article that was posted they are looking for the right company to do them justice

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Mobile Game Review

Marissa's score 2.0

Victor's score 4.0

about the responsibility of the games division of marvel them selves other then that having a good studio is the start to being on the right track, but there 's more to be done then that. and they sorta started taking to step with marvel heroes Let's hope they apply them to other ip's and over see them better.
